yeah those three play well off one another but its usually Rivaldo or Gionanne that make the difference.....he's too short for his age......but he is really, really fast and that make up for it.....but he's not know for his scoring.

Well the hatchet has finally fallen on the Panionios-Olympiakos game.

The final decision of the court was

1)the permanent cancellation of the game
2)the removal of 3 points for each team
3)Panionios will not be allowed to have fans at a game for the next 4 games
5)Olympiakos will not be allowed to have fans at a game for the next 5 games
6)Panionios was fined 100,000 euro and Olympiakos 300,000 euro
7)the Panionios former president that seemed to have instigated this was fined 10,000 euro and banned from attending games for the next three months.

aaaaah.......I enjoyed writing that!!!!

Olympiakos fans cry out this is an unfair decision, since they claim it was an away match and the responsibility for security was on Panionios.The rest of greek fans know it was a fair punishment, as long as Olympiakos fans(well,not all of them of course) were involved in that night of shame.
It was the most severe decision in the history of professional football in Greece and funny thing is that this was applied to one of the most favoured teams-the most favoured in the last 7 years. I really hope this is just the beginning of a new mentality in greek football justice.I wouldn't care who can be next,as long as they are proved guilty.Panionios was also punished,as well.
And it's really funny that the same day, Olympiakos lost the elections for the Hellenic Federation,which,for those who know how greek football works,can be very critical for the rest of the title fight.
I wish things were much different and the title should be awarded to the best team,but unfortunately sometimes there are other factors deciding the results of the matches.Not only in Greece of course,but it's true in Greece underdogs have very little chances to make it,not because they can't but because they are simply "not allowed to".

hmmm....^^^^......well today AEK lost at the hands of Apollon Kalamarias 2-1 and Egaleo came back to beat PAOK after being down 1-0 for the entire game.....

....I love Greek Football.....

Well,Egaleo is not considered an underdog any more-the only team so far to remain unbeaten by all so-called "big teams" in greek football-they beat PAOK for the Cup four days ago,as well.

AEK moved back to the top today with a huge 1-0 win over Egaleo!!! A club that is supposed to be rebuilding... a club that was in BIG trouble just a few months ago and in danger of being relegated to the 4th division due to financial crisis... a club that was not even intending on seriously challenging for the league... is now leading the league with a young, enthusiastic, upstart squad.

What a goal by Katsouranis...!!! It reminded me of the summer. ;)
I've been saying all along that AEK would take the championship this year. Lets hope Gekas makes the difference for PAO, I think the time has come for both Bayevic and Skazni, after this weekend's draws. What a show by Kalithea this past weekend who deserved the win against OSFP.

he came from burnley last season and had the most goals for the team. this year he started off great but doesnt seem to fit with the new coachs style. but he still has something like 9 goals this year. you should probably invest some time into looking him up as juve are said to be watching him :p

We just acquired Gekas from Kalithea so that him and Papadopoulos would make a 1-2 punch up front, I hope Juve waits till the summer.

i just picked it up on the wire today :o but i imagine juve is looking at lots of players everywhere so i really dont think much of it. but we will find out in the upcoming weeks.

mark77, Papadopoulos was on the Euro-winning squad. He even started in the game against Russia and was involved in the goal that put Greece through to the second round. You should know him.:o :p
He was also on the Greek Olympic squad. He's a talented young guy and Greece are hoping that he will continue to develop and perhaps be the go-to-guy.... but we'll see. I honestly hope he doesn't go to Italy, because usually Greek player's don't get enough respect over there.

This is very true...I think that only in Holland and England we see Greeks starting, and now Portugal with Fyssas and Seitaridis.

Italy has no respect for Greek footballers.

Thanks for your responses but it's INTER that don't respect Greek players. ;)

Putting Karagounis on the bench is simply stupid. Just sell him to Palermo or another team like that and THEY will start him.

papa is a solid player. he needs to have some service as he isnt a forward who will dribble from the midfield line to get you a goal. but he has a scent for goals and finishes a lot of chances he is given. right now it seems the coach is playing him too far behind the other striker so he has to try to do too much. but he has very good talent for the future
