The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, DONT PANIC!

My most anticipated movie of the year "The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" is going to be divulged to us on April 29th! If you still haven't read the book H2G2 by Douglas Adams or heard the Radio plays that he later wrote into books then I suggest you do so before you watch the movie. It is going to make a lot more sense then. The book was crazy, insane and absolutely hilarious! You are going to find a 101 ways of how to use a towel in case of a crisis. And if you're totally into the book then you are never going to look at mice the same way. :)

I think the trailer looks good actually, and people who've read the book are pretty happy with the cast, specially with Mos Def.

I'm really surprised, but gratified, to see Martin Freeman getting such a good role already in his career - his talent is obvious but I thought he'd have to work his way up for alot longer. I bet he'll be great.

seems that there are numerous versions of this book, which one have u read?

I have the omnibus edition - five books in this particular trilogy

consists of Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the end of the Universe, Life he universe and Everything, and, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish. oh yeah the last one, "Mostly Harmless"

and i think the movie will be pretty good, since the screenplay is done by the author himself. the director is new, however..so i don't know what to expect from him...the most interesting thing he's done is designed the title for Da Ali G Show..and that's hillarious, so i have faith in him

well, I havent read the book but I hated the movie. really hated it.

the story didnt make any sense, I didnt care for any of the characters, and while I though Sam Rockwell's was a really great character the first 25 minutes or so, by the end of the movie he was really annoying.

And Marvin was one of the worst robots ever put to costar a movie ever!!! I mean, of course it was Alan Rickman. Alan Rickman talks EXACTLY like that. worst voice acting ever IMO. and the character was useless.

Bill Nighy was ok, but too little, same for Malkovich.

Mos Def had good parts at first and then I didnt like him anymore.

and then the leads, I cant bash Martin Freeman cause its his first big star (though I did like him in Love Actually) but I have to say that I wasnt impressed. but my lovely Zooey Deschanel, a really poorly written character.

actually, everything was poorly written, even Stephen Fry as the voice narrating the guide, which just too much narration mostly because most of the time it was about random stuff that was just not interesting, had nothing to do with the story of the characters.

it would end up in my Worst of 2005 list if I actually cared about it or I was excited about it before seeing it. DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!

Meh. I'd given up on the movie being remotely good long ago, but I'm still bummed that there'll never be another HHGttG book.

Couldnt agree more: I havent seen him in very much at all. Small appearances here and there, but what i based my judgement of his talent on was his versatility or so it seemed, in outtakes of 'the office', and really during the series. He just seemed, ugh, i dunno how to define, but his expressions and little deviations from character and joking asides convinced me that he had more talent than even that role let people know. Granted, he played that dead-end job loser character very well, but i think hes got loads of potential to display. Plus, that charcter guy seems like me in alot of ways: hates his life, but doesnt do a thing about it (6) so naturally, i loved the character

Wow, I'm getting alot of mixed reviews about this movie. Those people who have read the book think the movie was totally awesome. Those who didn't read the book and watched the movie think it's the most ridiculous thing they've seen.

I still have to see it. :)

Has anyone seen the origional BBC series (1982) it's out on DVD and I still think it's funny. I haven't got around to seeing the movie yet, but the trailer looks good.

Marvin the Paranoid Android is awesome "Would you like me to stick my head in a bucket of soapy water ... or shall I go and stand in the corner and rust quietly" - Class :rockman:

this movie BLOWS ASS.

Just really stupid, and not funny at all. Unfortunately we walked out 50 minutes too late.

Martin Freeman was garbage in it and Zooey Deschanel looked oddly less attractive than usual. There were no redeeming qualities of this movie.

I feel sorry for the people that actually paid to see it.
