EURO, WC, EURO, bust -- hence the end of an era ...

France have a more stacked squad than Spain, IMO ...

France: 1998, 2000 bust in 2002 then final in 2006?

I don't mind women's soccer that much anymore. I would watch it if I was bored and it was on. I think it's cause I've been playing more soccer myself so I appreciate good play regardless of playing level.

I would have liked to have gone if they did games in Toronto.

Toronto prepping for the Pan Am games.
I do believe, if they weren't having those events they'd get a few games, maybe even the finals.

Currently watching the France-Germany game. Quite competitive. France has some skillful players. They were having the advantage most of the game but is getting flustered the last 10 minutes.

I'm having more fun watching this than the Chile-Uruguay game the other night.

I'm also contemplating if I should catch the Argentina-Colombia copa america game on TV or the women's USA-China game live here in Ottawa. The stadium is like 15 minutes drive plus traffic from where I am.

Edit: Necib just scored for France off of a deflection. Must admit she's cute! LOL

Germany goes thru! France played really well.

Next game, China - USA play within the hour here in Ottawa

I'm off to the game!

Physical/conditioning advantage for the USA is just massive in this game. It's like watching a peak Klopp Dortmund against a team of amateurs. With that said, I don't see what Alex Morgan is bringing to the table. Perhaps women's soccer has advanced so far in the last handful of years that she just isn't good enough anymore.

Also, it seems that the White Anglosphere teams (Aus, USA, Canada) do better than their male counterparts.

I don't know if Solo and Morgan never got the memo, skip practice, think they're celebrities so they don't have to fit in with the team, or are just incapable of what the USA is trying to do, but they are not on the same page with the rest of the team. The US is playing such an attractive brand of football and those two are playing like a keeper and striker from Sunderland in 1987.

can't believe ter-Stegen is still with the U21. Should be Neuer's backup.
He still has a long way to go until he reaches the level of such fabulous players as Zieler and Weidenfeller who are the current backup goalkeepers for their national team. Anyway just kidding. It's actually good that he is getting playing time and experience for Germany's youngsters, it's not like he would take Neuer's #1 spot any time soon.

Supposedly Weidenfeller who isn't even a starter for Dortmund anymore, had his last game (a good-bye match) for Germany against Gibraltar, at least that's what I heard. A fitting opposition to play him against at least.

So don't worry his time will come soon in the main team, too bad it'll most likely be a backup role for years to come.

Nahhh.. That's just such a blunt thing to say! ter Stegen is pretty damn good at the ball at his feet that I'm willing to admit, but he seems a little too error-prone (or maybe inconsistent is a better word) as a shot stopper (maybe that's because of the new club, nation and city) for my liking. I'm basing this on what I've seen of him. And I'm not denying here that he's had incredible matches for you guys as well. The one against Bayern away springs to mind first.

I personally prefer Bernd Leno over him, but that's just my opinion and it might change during the next season should ter Steger take over from Bravo full time, and start playing way more than he played during the last season. Just Copa del Rey and CL matches.
