Arthur, thanks mate, your post brought back some great memories of the Series, I created my team of West Yorkshire Coalminers, i think i named em Castleford Athletic, starting in the lowest Division with a team of hairy legged ale swilling colliers, 6 seasons later they were the toast of West Yorkshire and League Champs, then as Return to Europe came onto the scene, the team was imported into that game and after a few hectic attempts, finally won the Euro prize, and even now after playing Football games since the demise of the Amiga, there has never been a Football game that has had me playing it for almost two years none stop. One of the features in that game was when you won a league, if i remember corectly you only had the choice to buy the one player for the next season on that transfer system, so who ever you purchased had to fit into your team, and another nice touch was after a few seasons the players lost some of there attributes due to the age catching up to them, a few of the players in that Castelford Team were ancient by the time that it was all finished .. KickOff 2002

I think you'll find that you can zoom in and out with - + keys and the angle overhead can be changed with the [] keys. Seems the most playable football game on the PC, none of that scripted FIFA nonsence. I for one am going to buy a copy.

I tried the demo and I must say it's quite impressive. With Fifa ruling the PC soccer scene for all those years KO 2002 brings back the old and ass-kicking KickOff gameplay and I LOVE it. Yes it's fast, yes it's difficult, yes you need practicing and that's why it's so good. KO2002 is all about skills and not about hiting the right button and watching your player do everything for you.

If you take some time to learn the game you'll probably get as addicted as I am to the Kick Off gameplay.

Hey lombardo, I hope you're right !!! I was trying pressing all sorts of keys to see if I could get it to zoom out but must have missed pressing + and - :rolleyes: I'll go give that a try...it will make a big difference.

Anyone know the full list of commands?? Please either post them or post a link to them. Cheers

Hehe...cool, you can zoom out and alter the angle.....BRILLIANT !!!!

And, having fannied about with the options again, I noticed one entitled "Game Speed"...one mouse click later and the speed is set to slow. Perfect!!!

Ah well, the very things I thought were missing have actually been included...this game is now actually great fun!!! And dribbling is much more achievable at slow speed.

I doff my cap to Mr Screech. And thanks lombardo for pointing out what I missed in my blissless ignorance. Had these options not been included, I would probably have never played it again.

It's a worthy successor to KO2...a great little arcade footy game. I can't wait to but the full version. And someone said it will cost only £10....can anyone confirm this is true? I am a very happy boy.

Again, anyone know the full list of commands, just in case I'm missing some other great features?

Yes, it is just under 10 pounds, and from what i have been hearing from fans around the net, it is at that price to try to get the younger kids into the game, they all missed out on the first releases from 10 years ago, so a Tenner it is .. Ned

Keys

Well as far as i can tell the extra keys are...
F1 team 1 substitution
F12 team 2 substitution
H = pause
F2 = Replay
+ - zoom in/out
[ ] angle up/down
The enter key on the keypad gives some kind of heckle!!!
1-6 are team 1 tactics
1-6 on keypad are team 2 tactics
At a freekick the defending team can press 0-9 to add or take players away from the wall, and the same goes for corners where it adds or subtracts players from defending.
In the action replays you can actually rotate the whole pitch round to view it and even et a ball trace which is quite nice.
For a tenner it's a god damn steal! Not sure when it's going to hit the shops though, no body seems to be sure.

i saw a couple of complaitns about the speed, but in the options menu you can choose your speed. When you start the game it is set to the highest speed, but you can choose a lower level. I prever the middel one. You also can change the control. I heard many times they loose the ball, but wehn you set it to beginner the ball glues more at you're feet.

with + and - you can zoom in and with [ ] you can change the angle. You can also change the resolution the beginning is 800X600.

I must admit that it could be better. But it is just the first version and screech also listens to what people want. Also iss and ko2002 are two soccergames which are difficult to compare. But it's a good game and to al those people who complaint. Do something with it, this is you're opportunity to get the soccer game you want, because steve really listens to you. Just look at the forum of ko-gathering how he listens to the people.

I've been playing it all evening....I'm really getting addicted to KO all over again.

It's basically KO2 with everything improvement added that I can think of...Screech has done a great job.

There's also a new update to the demo which allows the camera to come down real low so you get a much better view.

I've already created all 42 Scottish League teams.

Sure, it's nowhere near as sophisticated as PES but as an arcade footy game, it's much better than FIFA and only costs £10.

The old time adrenalin is back in this game and what a breath of fresh air after years of Fifa, and once this game starts nothing else seems to matter as you go for broke out there on the park, this game is a gem and thats for sure, and now an updated camera view to make things even better, things are looking good .. Ned :D

Ha! just when you thought the days of end to end hi tempo footy matches were dead! This is superb and for once the computer makes a decent opponent. Good set piece routines as well when you start to get to grips with them...anyone want a game? :D

If you've never played a Kick Off game before it's difficult to enjoy KO2002 the first time I suppose. I'd suggest trying more than just one game.

Anyway, *I*'m having a lot of fun with this demo :D.

Sorry but i thought it sucked big time! the control just spoils the game. Why couldn't this be a win9x update of sensible soccer with nothing to do with the 3d crap! ( the version released in '98) now that would be pure bliss!
