The most Frusterating game Ive ever played

FIFA 2003 is the most frusterating game I have ever played.
The passing is not properly functional. Sometimes when I aim a smart pass to a teamate in wide open space the ball gets passesd to a opposing defender further down the pitch. When your 1 goal down with 10mins remaining little things like that really make the game annoying.

Sometimes when I hold down the through pass for a long time it will produce a tiny little pass that goes nowhere and sometimes when I just tap it it goes about 30 meters.

The skill button is not properly functional. No matter what you do the defender will 9 times out of ten take the ball off you before you even execute a skill move. The Computer defenders generally take the ball from you too easily.

The difficulty levels create an unbalanced experience. Professsional is too hard and semi-pro is too easy.

I am a long time FIFA player and consider myself to have very good game skills I absolutely rock at FIFA 2002 but FIFA 2003 has a very restrictive feel to it and the passing does not feel accurate at all.

Edit: And a few other things:
Switching selected players in defence is tedious , having to scroll through about 3 unwanted players before finally getting the right one just in time to see the opposition score a goal is not my idea of entertainment.

Selecting the player to make a run also is tedious. So many times I have seen the perfect opening and cant get my player there cos it scrolls through about 3 or 4 unwanted players first.

Some questions:
1. How do I choose a player to pass to from a free kick?
2. How do you choose a player to kick to from a goal kick?
3.Does anyone else have trouble switching players when in defence or when trying to make a run?
I can never seem to get the player I want to make the run and then by the time the player I want makes the run the space is covered . This happens almost everytime , seriously frusterating stuff.
Edit: 4. How do I direct shots on goal. Sometimes the ball goes left when I hold right and sometimes it goes right so I don't know.
5. Do I have to hold back for the ball to stay low, cos when I do this the ball goes in the direction I point the stick meaning opposite direction to the goal. I cant seem to work out the logic behind the goal shooting technique at all. I just have to hope that the ball goes where I want.

short pass, just turn ur player to the person and pass. Long pass, no particular person in preference, just turn player to the direction, and kick it upfield. IMO, not a very good option as in real life, defeders and midfielders always look for strikers (or defenders like how they always aim a long pass to Hyypia) as a targetman, for passing. Except, accuracy may be be there, which is why the freekick meter should always be there regardless of distance from goal. And allow us to pinpoint which players to pass to. Accuracy and strength will then be based on the meter. One thing that EA Sports fail to recognise... sad to say.
Goalkicks are the same. Although they do not need the meter. For gaming, goalkeepers can deliver the ball up at FULL strength. Therefore, for goalkicks, this is still acceptable.
For defending, when you switch to another player via the short pass button, you have to hold the defending button and pull the player back, or he'll usually be out of position. This is very frustrating...but will be very easy to master. And once you master it, your defence is almost invulnerable to any kinds of attacks. Reason is and of your players in defending mode standing in the path of t he ball will just bring the ball down.
To make players make the runs you want, always make a thru' pass towards the players, and not away from it. After which ,you must almost immediately press the run button. To master this properly, try going options and switch the Player Runs on. This way, you can tell which player is going to make a run, and train urself from there.
EA Sports still has alot to improve on to make a perfect football game. In the realism area, probably it has done so. But gameplay wise, it has to learn more from Konami. The best I have played is still the ISS for N64 version...
