The New PS2

Does anyone if that the new ps2, the skinny, is soldout. Ive been lookin for it everywhere but they only have the fat one, Ive been to them department store chains, specialty stores--like EB and such-- but no luck. Is any one is having the same problem?????

Yeah they have been sold out because Sony couldn't keep up with the demand. But they should be restocked shortly.

Yup. Just had to order one off Amazon.co.uk. Mainly because the fat ones are now pretty much non-existent unless you buy them used.

The problem with that being that they want £150+ for them due to the seller always throwing in games and accessories with the deal.

I wouldn`t recommend it. It`s almost the same with the old PS2. The only difference is that it`s more skinny. What makes it not a good product that the fact it doesn`t have a blower to keep the machine cool down during hours of play. If you play at a rate of more than one hour per day, it will broke the console.

The problem being that no high-street shops sell the old ones anymore. Plus buying them on the internet usually means you spend an extra £40 for a bundle that you don't want.

So people who have abused their old PS2s (i.e. me) have to buy the slimline one.

Actually, the slimline one does have a good selling point. It's got a network adapter built in so it's basically ready for online stuff. If they get a load of complaints about overheating someone may have to manfacture a fan or something just to add on to the console. Even something like a USB cooling mat would probably do.
