2007 footballer of the year coming up...

He won't win the PFA or writers' awards, they're still bitter over the ****e WC England had (and still hold Ronny responsible). Quite a change come over Mr Shearer on MOTD recently don't you think?

"If I were Rooney I'd stick one on Ronaldo the moment I saw him in preseason training" and now "He can do everything, player of the season etc" :)

Ronaldo playing awesome, and United 6 clear at New Years eve -
Ha ha, In the words of John "Hannibal" Smith "I love it when a plan comes together" (H)

Ronaldo :hit: any EPL winger.

Wonder how many players United will be linked with from tomorrow?

United are really going to push for hargreaves it seems. So do you guys think that this means that United are really going to stick with the 4-5-1 and maybe ferguson is going to try to turn Rooney into an upgraded Scholes, or will Carrick and Hargreaves have to fight for a place in the team?

Well, it's pretty much academic for another three months seeing as Owen won't be anywhere near match fit (that's if we get him). More than likely I think that they would alternate depending on opponents - it would give us options in midfield, which is something we lack. Also I could see Scholsey's role being advanced and SAF playing a 4-4-2 with Saha playing a lesser role (Rooney would be up with Scholes IMO)

Though as I say, We haven't got him yet - and he won't have recovered from his broken leg. Also I'd be nervous of United gambling big money on someone who hasn't fully recovered anywhere near enough (though it paid off with Wazza) I look at Real Madrid's decision with Woodgate and it does concern me. I think Nigel Reo-Coker would be an excellent alternative and probably cheaper too.

(Yeesss - first post of 2007 0n the board is mine!)

Happy new year y'all.

You want a team to win a treble 3 times in a row? Now that's not a curse, that's just asking a little too much.

So Larsson is eligible to play today?

nah, something to do with the premier league not being in office today so can't rubber stamp the loan move? Not sure, but he's not in the squad.

u expect too much of larsson from reading the reactions when u signed him. The cap verdian isnt as good anymore
well,he played well for Barcelona but u can't expect a good player to play great at a ****ty club like Helsingborg! 10 crap player's and 1 good player, guess the good player just become avarage then!

Henrik Larsson will not be eligable to play agains the Toons tonight. He is however clear to play the next game against Aston Villa. Big win against Newcastle tonight? Highly likely...Rooney loves to score against the barcodes.

1-0 Newcastle. Well deserved. What a **** half of football from United. They just don't look up for it. This half of football is like watching Chelsea.

Saha off, Park on.

u r right b-ytter helsingborg is nothing but crap so any player who goes there is killing his career really. But the swedish league must be one of the worst in europe so all players here sucks.

Could be 'one of those days'. Wouldn't suprise me if Newcastle nick a goal late on, by which time United will have probably missed about 4 or 5 golden chances to win it.
