Why are we even talking about strikers? Even with Ruud ******* off to Real Madrid or Sauerkraut Munich we'll still have enough players who can play as fowards.

We need ******* midfielders :)
Oh but whatever do you mean!? In Fergie we trust! He won the treble! He's infallable! The transfer window isn't closed yet, I have faith!!!1111........

Could it be that the board wants to keep us and other clubs guessing, but in the meantime they have already got a few players?

Haha! I would love to be proven wrong but I doubt that. In today's world of football, NOTHING is a secret for very long. We knew of our interest in Park and VDS weeks before we signed them. Lets hope they get some common sense and sign 2 class defensive minded midfielders.

Damian Duff is now on the market, SAF always wanted him, now its time to get him.

Just because United and a lot of United "fans" want us to buy players from arch enemys and rivals, doesn't mean Mourinho is as stupid.

The point is even if Chelsea implode with all these players, like Duff becoming unsettled, there's no way in hell Chelsea would ever sell them to us. They hold all the aces, they got the money, the location and the practical guarantee of the Premiership title.

The grim fact is United can't compete in the World market anymore, it's certainly questionable that they can still attract the top players. Years ago if you asked a player where he'd consider going it'd be "Madrid, Milan, Manchester or Barcelona. Now it's "Chelsea or Real Madrid" Inter Milan now have the top lure of Italian football (they are in Europe) and they're already closing on Torres and Vieira apparently.

What have United got - history and a big stadium. Well yeah. But how likely are United to win the European cup next year or the premiership title?

"No I'm sorry Mr Mourinho, but the money and the fact I can challenge for everything is irrelevant. Manchester United have far more fans worldwide and a much richer history."

What makes it worse is that we have United players openly expressing desires and dreams to play for Madrid - players used to dream of playing for United, and sadly that is now what we have lost.

I'm sorry to rant on, but I genuinely believe that United's lure and drawing power has been lost, and I fear a Liverpool esque barren period is awaiting.

All we can do is give those chosen to wear our colours, our support as we always have.

Bayern are considering to offer us Hargreaves + cash for Ruud

I can assure you that Hargreaves won't be included in any kind of deals, Bayern's chairman said it a couple of days ago. They wouldn't even do a Owen for Ruud straight up trade.
Bayern will increase the offer but not up to the requested 15 million pounds ManU want. Then we'll have to see what you do.

Ruud told his agent that Manchester would "never see me again."

Help?

Ferguson doesn't want Duff, otherwise he would have signed him 2 years ago when Damien was waiting for us until the last minute before accepting the Chelsea offer.

And i think all we need is a good midfielder and we will be up there competing with Chelsea again. It's not that big of a gap between us, they just have too much cover for every position, but the quality of the first 11 is very similar except central midfield.

That is why i think that we need to get a midfielder RIGHT NOW, whoever it is Vieira, Carrick or Mascherano, whoever is available before Chelsea get ahead of us in all the departments.
