very interesting.... but has nani been consistent in the portugese league? cuz i have only seen him play twice. Definitely looks like a hot prospect.

Berbatov would fit the bill. I have always rated berbatov when he was playing for leverkusen. He has similar attributes to Ruud.

It's too soon to say that he will be, he could end up elsewhere for all I care but it is nice to know that some players are 'desperate' to play for Manchester United again, as it were at one time.

damn!

the Asian Football Confederation forced Man Utd to cancel their tour in Malaysia because the Asian Cup is held at the same time. DAMN DAMN DAMN.

I was about to get a dressing room pass :(

I could have met C. Ronaldo and give him a Milan jersey :(:(:(

I'd like to see that from a better source, I can't believe United would need another keeper yet - Ben Foster is coming back and Tomaz Kuzsczak (sp) is a fine keeper. That's three with Edwin.

I like the sound of Nani, any clips? £17.5M is probably what Sporting will ask, but will he be a Ronaldo (instant impact) or a Quaresma (take a while to get going). Speaking of Quaresma, I wouldn't be surprised if he's on United's radar with a view to sharing the load with Giggsy, after being lost at Barca, he looks ready to step up again - Imagine the two Portuguese wonderkids running the wings!

As for the other rumours;

Eto'o has been a Fergie target before when he was at Majorca (he went to Barca). If the reports are true, he's a good friend of Rio and would welcome the move - I imagine if Spurs are quoting £30M for Berbatov, Barca will be asking for the same type of money. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if they swapped Henry with Eto'o (Reyes might be used in the deal) and he ended up at Ashburton Grove.

Darren Bent would be my guess, Berbatov will be too expensive, Spurs wrung every last penny for Michael last season (though he was worth it).

Michael Owen, too injury prone for me - a truly world class finisher when fit, but these long layoffs cant be helping his once searing pace.

I'm beginning to feel the Hargreaves deal might not happen, if Bayern are Carlos*ing up the price then I can't see United playing ball too much. If Owen is desperate to move though that will play in our favour.

Regarding Fernando Torres, I heard the comments about Old Trafford, yet I reckon he'll most likely move to the Spanish Revolution at Anfield.

I don't understand why we should even consider Berbatov, simply because he doesn't have the pace for the way Manchester United play football.

Manchester United should be looking for a first-choice striker who is very good on the counter-attack, can compliment the other players going forward and can chip in at least fifteen goals a season with his own fair share of assists with a shit load of pace to burn, not a target man who depends on service or a player who is susceptible to being breathed on during training every week.

Ruud and Ferguson falling out was one of the best things that happened to the club since our last league title win four years ago. The last thing we need is a player in the van Nistelrooy mould.

Now the hysteria has died down a little somewhat, and the "fan boys" have ceased wetting themselves over their first ever United title, I just wanna say bloody well done to Man U. To Fergie, the players and the fans, congratulations.

It was a great title battle this season. I for one enjoyed once again, all the nailbiting and tension that a fierce title fight brings. I missed it for sure, but at the same time I could certainly do without it.

You can look at all the +'s and the -'s that affected both our clubs, as the season wore on as much as you like. At the end of the day Man U won the league and thats what history will show, and thats as it should be.

Worthy winners indeed fellas(Y)
Very impressed to hear that from you (Y) Cheers dude

I'd love for us to relegate those fuckers on Sunday and then hammer out a deal with MSI that would give us full ownership over Tevez's registration. I've been watching him since his Boca days and he has always looked like a clone of Rooney, yet so much better in front of goal and much superior finisher, would be worth it whatever the cost. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

Benni McCarthy may not be a player blessed with individual prowess, but I could see him fitting in well with the way we play, and he's a United fan aswell (nothing to do with why I wouldn't mind seeing him here though). Again, I don't see it happening.

i'm glad you brought up Benni McCarthy actually... i've seen alot of him and he reminds me of a certain Dwight Yorke :p he really does look like the kind of player that would fit in well in the team. He's got a great attitude aswell (Y)

I dont get why you dont want Berbatov, shokz.

I think his style of play compliments Man Utd fantastically.

His physique is the major pluspoint for me. I think the way he can hold up the ball is an advantage to have.

For example he shouldnt be given defensive duties, so whenever a counter attack is up, Ronaldo or Rooney can play a one-two with him. Man Utd have done this similar counter attack countless times with the one two between your wingers and forward.

Also because of his aerial ability, Man Utd's wingplay also provides him with crosses that maybe Saha, Smith or Rooney dont finish.

In my opinion, Berbatov should be the main transfer target for attack. No doubt about it.

Man Utd fans do have a sense of humour putting their hands under their chins today...great support even though the match wasnt all that great.

Eto was mentioned today on some sites. As in we need a bit more speed. Eto would be perfect. But I wouldnt mind Defoe. I think we will go for Hargreaves and Nani. Berbatov they are asking ridiculous amounts.

17.5 million pounds for Nani? Don't think so.

Is this guy any good, I saw a few clips on youtube and I can't say I was impressed with what I saw, he was quick and had a good shot but didn't look anywhere near Ronaldo's class, honestly I don't know why we would pay that much.

I agree with Ben about Berbatov. No doubt he's a class act, but its returning to the ruud days. Fergie stated the other day he's looking at pace, and thats not Berbatovs strength.

I've made no secret of it that i'd like to see Torres here, and last summer i was confident he'd arrive, but now i'm not so sure. There's been lots coming from sampdoria regarding that Quag.. fella. Not seen too much of him apart from a few youtube vids, but he seemed pretty sharp so he might be a cheaper option.

Mixed feelings about Defoe, but i dont think Bent is good enough.
