13 goals in 35 league appearances is not a very good return for a striker.

Wayne Rooney: 0.4 Goals per Game last Season
Fabio Quagliarella: 0.38 Goals per Game last Season

Rooney scored every 7th Goal for his Team.
Quagliarella scored nearly every 3rd Goal for his Team.

Good post. 13 goals for a 23 year old in Serie A is not very bad at all. But if you consider Rossi scored 9 goals for Parma in 19 games, then why are we buying what we already have.

There's increaing reports that Barca want Gerard Pique for £7M, or even in exchange for Eidur Gudjonssen :) I think that'd be a good deal, though I like Pique and wouldn't mind him sticking around.

rooney ole rossi n fabio

you forget dong. The effort they went to getting him able to play over here, I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of him.

I cant see saf selling saha either. Smith maybe, but hes even stated before he wants too use him more, stuck up for him recently on the england front suggesting he was good enough to have a crack at it.

In fact i'd be very surprised if they sold anyone, although if anyone was too go on that front it would be smith.

*edit* was looking up some videos of dong apprently hes got bit of a temper, ave it! :D

we are no strangers to players that display temper. Rooney...keano...sparky...cantona.

But it doesnt matter its very hard to see dong given a chance at united.

It's pathetic peefan talk, should be ignored.

I'll pretend you got your nickers in a twist

Anyways back on topic, I'm not sure about Dong staying. Like David Gill said there will be exits and i hope one of those is Richardson.

I think Pique has good potential and would love to see him develop and stay at United...though if Barca want a loan deal then i'd say thats good for Pique

Otherwise they can **** off

Nani injured his ankle yesterday for the U21's and was stretchered off. He scored a cracking goal though. Hope he's alright.

I seriously doubt that Pique can overtake Brown and Evans as 4th choice centerback.

Apparently he's been told he's third choice behind Vidic and Rio, although thats from Ballague. I've heard some good reviews about pique, with some comparing him to Hierro? I dont have sky so can't watch the Spanish league, so i haven't seen much of him.

Nani upped a gear last night to silence some of his critics. (Y)

Same old same old. United players dissed before even playing for the club.

Anyway, young Rossi scored and was voted Man of The Match (Y).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Italy consultant Gianfranco Zola admits they were wrong in leaving Giuseppe Rossi on the bench in the European Under-21 Championships.

“Giuseppe is an important player, but at the start so was Palladino, so we thought it was right to keep faith with Raffaele,” he said after the Azzurrini crashed out of the tournament.

“Obviously with hindsight you can say many things, but at the time we thought that was the right thing to do.”

The decision to give Rossi only 16 minutes against Serbia and the second half in the 2-2 draw with England caused controversy and confusion in the Italian media.

In his first start of the competition this evening, he scored for the 3-1 win over the Czech Republic and was voted Man of the Match by UEFA.

Despite the result, Italy still go out at the first hurdle thanks to England’s controversial 2-0 victory over the already qualified Serbia.

“Clearly this is not enough, as we thought – and I still think – we deserved to go further,” added Zola.

“Unfortunately we are paying the price for mistakes above all in the first game, which looking carefully we did not deserve to lose. We didn’t do enough against Serbia in terms of finishing.

“These things can happen and the lads can be proud they gave their all with more or less everyone playing their part.”

It’s not all over yet, as Italy face a play-off with Portugal on Thursday for a place in the 2008 Olympics.

This is because England can only compete as part of Great Britain, so their presence in the top four leaves a space open.

Quagliarella claims that we've upped the bid in order to get him, look's like we're eager to get him. Considering he scored 13 goals, they were all pretty spectacular, he could be a interesting one. He seems to have a presence surrounding him.

Nani aims to prove a point!

Nani says he cannot wait until the Community Shield to respond to Chelsea's jibe that Manchester United paid over-the-odds for his signature.

That was the accusation levelled at United by their rivals' chief scout Piet de Visser after the Dutchman watched Nani at the European Under 21 Championship in Holland.

As a result, Nani is now doubly keen to showcase his talent when the two sides meet in the season's opener at Wembley on 5th August.

"I am already thinking about that game," Nani is quoted in The Daily Mail. "That is where I will make my mark.

"I want to show Chelsea that buying me has been a great move by Manchester United."

Nani has been compared to new team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo after coming through the youth ranks at Sporting, and will be joined at Old Trafford next season by fellow new signings Owen Hargreaves and Anderson.

Good, sounds like Nani is making all the right noises :)

Any news on Anderson's permit yet? They'll want to get a move on if he's going on the tour. Especially as he's at the Copa next week.

I think they'll reconsider after copa america. Hopefully Brazil win it then he would have at least 7 caps by then. So we;ll see. But another thing that could work for him is his talent. Ithink if a player is very good hes more likely to get a permit in that kind of circumstance. But we'll see.

But hey we get about 300,000 immigrants come in a year and dont leave. Within a year or two they get jobs and they become legit. Britain is a soft touch. So i dont see what the big deal is with foreign players. IF we can let non eu people in here with not much resistance.

They should just give him a work permit. 299,000 other people get one every year.
