I don't really post here, but i enjoy reading who we should and shouldn't get this summer. Here's my view on the club so far.
Bad news:
I'm afraid its true, our club is seen on the decline. players are not happy (ruud), some players are hated in england (ronaldo), others just literally don't belong in any top side (fletcher). We lost our appeal, our glamour and our heads (glazer). We are a team in debt who we're out during the group stages in the champions league. More players are leaving than comming to manchester which is either to save money or because they see brighter pastures elsewhere in europe. Even Valencia are able to attract players?! What ever happend to our youth system?!
Good news:
Rooney. Rossi. Ronaldo. The future is bright, but in order to regain the glory and glamour of the 90's, we need to act now, start playing "joga bonito" and winning. We already have the foundations of a great team, now we just need at least two great signings.
Transfers:
Carrick is overpriced (english tax?), Viera could be an answer but he's sigining with inter. Gravesen would be a good signing but not a great one. Diarra, Ribbery and Mascherano look settled at their clubs. Pirlo would be a good signing since we really need someone to create opportunities for our strikers. Speaking of strikers, Torres and Rooney would be great, granted that they both live up to their names.
Overall:
WE NEED TO SIGN SOMEONE. any of the names above ill welcome with open arms. Its obvious we need midfielders, just pay whatever ridculous price for someone to fill up the DM gap left by keane. A striker will be needed too once RVN heads to Bayern or Real but i'd love to see Rossi getting playing time if we fail to sign Torres. Regarding SAF, i think he should retire as soon as Scholes, Giggs and Neville hang up their boots. That will have be the start of a new era. I have loved manchester united ever since i first kicked a futbol, but I'd hate to see our team being castigated by Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal in the upcomming season.
