Not going to happen is it? Realisticly you're looking at the FA and league cup as potentional silverware and the likes of Torres aint interested in that.

Yeah, and I'm sure Torres is intrested by winning the equivalent of those in Spain by staying at Athletico. If that is Torres' attitude, then why is he at Athletico? They aren't even going to win anything.

very good point

im sure it is alot more rewarding to just play in the champions league with united than to stay at athletico and not win anything and to lose half of your games

Exactly so why go to United who also have little prospect of landing a major competition?

On the other hand he has another season of development in familiar surroundings with more clubs likely to be interested in him next summer.

Possibly, but then again, Untied have a lot more a chance with major competitions. They just need a midfielder that will get the job done, and they'll be back again.

Clubs such as? The only possibility atm is Milan or us and he doesn't want to go to Italy, plus he has already stated his desire to play for us one day, he's just being loyal to Atletico and I think that he wants to leave in a good way by seeing out the remainder of his contract. And all this players don't want to come to us because we aren't good enough talk is crap, look at Inter for how many years haven't they won any silverware and still players want to play for them, same goes to Real, clubs such as Man U, Inter, Real attract players because, they want to be part of a new era, they want to help bring the club back up, Ronaldinho chose for Barca, because he wanted to bring the club back up, before he went to Barca, they were **** and that didn't stop him from going there. How many players in the last few months has said that they want to come and play for us, Muntari, Mascherano Torres etc.

mate u are talking alot of sense today,why cant united win the CL,Liverpool did and i look at their team then and ours and i would pick ours.we have a lot of great young talent here and i would have tought that could have got him here but the only thing i can think of is spainish players have never really settled in england except xavi Aloso and maybe garcia,but thats it i think this could have turned him off but wouldnt it be great to turn on the news on wednesday morning and see a bid accepted for torres from united
