that's a pretty fine looking first team XI, we would also have some decent back-ups on the bench in tommy.k,vidic, scholes, giggs and saha.

I think Wigan is the perfect match for Rooney and Saha alike.

Alienseafood, your lineup for next season...

gary-rio-brown-heinze
ron-carrick-hargreaves-nani
rooney-torres

The problems I see there are:
a) Vidic is a better partner to Rio and pretty much a better defender
b) With a Carrick/Hargreaves central midfield we're not going to get much of an attacking threat out of them, whereas Scholes/Hargreaves provides a goalscoring threat that the opposition needs to watch out for.
c) Will Gary still wear the armband next year? I have a feeling it will go to Rio. If that happens, Gary isn't necesarily going to have a spot in the starting XI, with two promising right backs out on loan returning.

i really hope rooney hits top-form soon, as we'll need him to create and score for the tough fixtures ahead.

He hasn't been himself since his injury layoff before the WC. I don't like the guy one bit but their is no denying that he is a very good player.

Your right though he needs to get into gear. It could cost them the title otherwise. I think this will be the season that makes or breaks him at united fully.

If he doesn't perform. I can see him being sold next season.

HAHA Rooney sold, these guys crack me up :fool: A trio composed by Ronaldo, Rooney and Nani sounds really appealing. Nani is very good but we have to wait and see how he adapts to a bigger club and a more demanding football.

Every season there's some kid who's hyped and hyped - Nani is promising sure, but there's no telling how well he'll play in future. There's no guarantees, just look at Denilson a few years ago or Hugo Viana for example.

One player in Portugal who I like the look of is the Porto striker Anderson.

ROONEY SOLD?!?! hmm...how bout we plant a tree n hang you upsidedown instead?!?! (kiddin) but whatever made you think that, well...just lay off on it, ok?

anyways,
i do think that vidic is a good defender, but like evra, i would put him on the bench since he needs more time to adapt to the english game, but im sure he'll give good pressure to both rio n brown...

as for the carrick/owen...i see that owen would be the DM n carrick would go forward a bit, suppling passes to the forwards n the wings...less shooting ala scholes though...

and for gary, pretty much sure i could bet my soul n eat a chickens turd that he would still be capt til he leaves or he would play lees games like the other senior players...and with giggs/ole/scholes as vice-capts, i doubt rio would be capt soon... :fool:

Senior Squad
yeah...he was already the capt while keane was injured at that time...really stupid of him...and now he wants it back...guess he better start performin really well n consistent to catch the eye of fergie...

I agree with you there. Anderson (he's an attacking midfielder btw) is almost sure to become worldclass.

Nani can be hyped but that's because he's being an important player for Sporting lately, deciding a few games and was already called for the NT senior squad. Of course he's not at Cristiano Ronaldo level, but has a good development margin still being only 19.

Starting XI
i don't think Nani is over hyped, the other youngsters at Sporting are but not this one, he's really great imo, speed, great technique and a good shot, make him mentaly strong enough to play in a bigger club and league and you got yourselves a great player, but not at CR level.
