Well... outside-of-foot pass was not created by Zidane. And the move is absolutely basic, you don't have to be too skilled for that. Every normal professional footballer does this. I did that quite often when played with mates myself. Nothing uuber, really.
What is this, a Zidane worshiping community? Many of you thinks that 360* spin is also a ''Zidane turn'' though it's not. Many many players did and are doing that.
It's just that necessity of those kind of passes are usually non existent. For some strange reason Zidane just loves to perform them more often then needed(just like Pes4).
And yes, I agree that outside-of-foot passes are far to exagagerated in Pes4(demo).

if fameous player pulls some trick often then we can call this trick with his name, so everyone knows what it's about; you can make this trick in every match but if you play in 4th league nobody cares
Zidane Spin -> Marseille Roulette
Ronaldinho feint -> Flip flap/Elastico
C. Ronaldo pass -> La bona/Cross pass
Beckham penalty.. ups.
etc..

we all know pes4 is a great game so everyone awares of saying "damn, this game sucks" :mexican:
I dunno why Konami doesn't have betatesters, EA doesn't have betatesters? otherwise there wouldn't be so many cons, handplay in pes3, now passes and keepers in pes4..

PC PES4 demo - review

Hi all

Well, finally we got the demo and there´s a lot of people dissapointed about it.

I have the ps2 version, and now compare with the pc demo, they are really diferent. I dont compare with pes3, because is clear that pes4 in all versions is much much better than pes3. The people that had not chance of to play the ps2 version will find strange the step between pes3 and pes4, until you got the controls, and then it will be great....

GRAPHICS

First of all, the first thing that you notice in the PC version is the great quality of graphics, are simply awesome, much better than in ps2 version. Overall for the pc resolution, antialias, etc......
There´s a lot of details that the ps2 version lacks, for example the textures are quiet more realistic (more shadows, contrast, etc in faces and shirts), and the stadiums are simply awesome.

As always, depend of your machine, the speed of game is diferent, i mean, the ps2 "timing" is not the same in ps2 that in pc.
So, people will find faster the game or a bit more slow. In my case is certain really aproching to the ps2 timing, may be a bit slower. This can affect to your controls, i mean, if you are custom to play in ps2, you will notice that you must to learn again the controls and timing in the pc version (almost in this demo,,,,i wait for the final released)

Now on the pc version, forgot about to Edit mode, and make the shirts, etc, pixel by pixel. Now is great the chance of to change the faces, shirts, stadiums, ball, and all textures with the pc tools, more quickly and without to make a copy of the game, as in the ps2 version. Now is more easy to edit and put the graphics as you want.

And the more important thing. NO SLOWDOWNS, like in the ps2 version or the pes3 version.

GAMEPLAY

As i said, the pc timing in quite diferent of the ps2 timing, and the "always" bad thing is that the controls are prepared for a ps2 pad. Then you will find that is more difficult to play the pc version with a pc pad, kinda (wingman, microsoft, etc....). I guess that the definitive thing to play perfectly and dont turn mad editing the controls, is to take and adapter for you ps2 pad.

The gameplay is exactly that in the ps2 version, except, as i said, the "timing". Is more difficult to play in the pc version than in the ps2 version...almost in this demo. I like more the response of the ps2 players that the pc response, but may be this is a pad question indeed.
The movement of the ball is similar to the ps2 version, for not to say identic, and the gameplay in general is so good than in the ps2 version, there´s not a pinball, but sometimes the rebounds makes you crazy, as in the ps2 version (auto goals, etc..). I cannot judge the referees actions in too few minutes....there´s no time in the demo for a real referee action, but after a lot of macthes, the response of the referee is identic to the ps2 version. (keep in mind that in pes4 some referees are good and others no, some of them will go sometimes with the home team, others makes mistakes in faults...etc...) This is a thing that we should see in the definitive pc version

Same problem with the keepers in pc version. They make the same things that in ps2 version. Sometimes an amazing stops, and others too much statues. This aspect is identic. But for me is ok, in real life when Roberto Carlos or Ronaldinho shoot a freekick, the goalkeepers only have time to see how the ball enters.

SOUND

Simply great. Identic to the ps2 version (it lacks the commentaries, but i think that it will be the same feeling that in the ps2 version...spanish comentaries are very good). Furthermore if you have a 5.1 audio system, you will be mad about the feeling on the play.

FINALLY WORDS

Identic version between ps2 and pc except in the graphics that are much better in pc, may be a little sacrifice on the gameplay for to obtain a better look in the game. But as i said, the gameplay depends of a lot of things, resolution, refresh, and overall, to have a ps2 pad in your pc.

I think that is not necesary to talk about the EA game, because PES4 is simply better in all aspects, is much more real, is the best aproch to real soccer. Anyway, some of the aspects of the game must to be solved. Konami is working now on PES5, yes, but meanwhile, enjoy this great game, for me, the best soccer game.

Take care

I liked PES3 better. PES4 is still a lot of fun but it just seems too fast. There's also the problem with the players playing passes off the outside of their foot too ofter.

Graphics for me are better this year on close ups, but from distance I preferred PES3's graphics. PES3 ran really smoothly at 60fps but its main downfall was the slowdown. It seems PES4 has reduced the framerate to reduce slowdown. That's definitely a good thing but I miss the 60fps at high resolution I was getting last year. Graphics are better than FIFA's in terms of player models and faces but the lighting is no way near as good. Overall from the gameplay camera I would say FIFA looks better, although some close-ups of players in PES4 (like Beckham) look really lifelike.

Sound this year is pretty good and even the commentary is bareable. But overall I don't like the direction the gameplay went. I haven't seen any noticable improvements except set-pieces and that the game seems like PES3 on steroids. Still its easily the best gameplay of any series at the moment due to the AI of the players.

But I'm looking forward to getting it on my Xbox. I don't trust my PC with computer games anymore.

I love it!

The graphics are beautiful (and that's even before we've had chance to edit them) and it plays smoother than any sports game I've seen in my life. It runs at a perfect spped on my PC (P4 2.0, 512mb RAM, FX5700 Ultra).

To me, it's the closest to perfect a soccer game has ever been yet.

It would be great if it wouldn't be so freakin' fast.
And how come that it's so pacey if the framerate is actually very bad on my machine. Only some 15-25 in average, but still incredibly fast.
I can't even dribble decently. Maybe I could if I had reaction like pro CS player, but now it's impossible. Players move more calmly in NHL2005 than in this demo.
What's up with those harware issues again?! It seems that everyone has completely different experience concerning game speed. It's even more disturbing than in Pes3. I could cope quite well with slowdowns when using 3dAnalizer and double speed function, but now I can't do anything to make it better.
Zero enjoyment until now.:f***:

I installed the demo expander and my world changed. Yesterday I played a couple of matches. I thought it was way too fast! I disliked it and I was disappointed. Today I installed the expander and I started to play. In some way the gameplay was slower and looked like PES 3 to me. It was alot different like the game I played yesterday.

This is what (i think) happens:
If you played a very short match 2min half in PES3 you know that the opponent was good and scored fast. The gameplay was much faster then when you played 10 min a half. So I guess the same happens with PES 4.

I thank the people who made the expander cause with the gamespeed I can wait a little longer :mrpimp: ( I even played a non stop match for 2 hours)

ok so R2 makes space.
i find that passing to a player and then pressing L1 and pass makes another player run forward. which is coool.

just wish it was easy to make players make runs forward like in fifa.

play 15 min or more and press pause, go to change player and press R1
you will see players stamina reached ZERO
so as long you play, as slower is overall gameplay coz your players are tired to death ;)

you can't set up your gamepad, while in the game, you have to go to Setting.exe inside konami's PES folder
