Kind of. But the goal was to have a balanced group anyway. Your 3 blokes would be good at almost everything, or almost nothing.(H)

Although you could make a char an expert in something. I used Cloud for melee attacks and summoning, Barret for miming, Melee and some magic and Red for melee and limits. Although Barret and Cloud's limits are pretty damn good as well. You should try FFT if you want character specialisation though.;)

One character: Meltdown on it
One Character: Aura on Squall
Squall (armed with Lion Heart) does Renzokuken hopefully taking off 9999 each time and then doing Lion Heart. Pretty easy.

Nah, pokemon is shallow, FF is complex, in gameplay and in storyline.

As a story, you have to say that FFVII is the best so far, although I enjoyed the story behind FFX, and the ending was one of the most emotional endings to a FF game.

I quite liked the Materia system they had in FFVII too, I think I prefer it to the junction system.

The FFX system of switching characters mid-battle was a nice touch though. You had your character specialisation, but if you had the wrong set-up before a battle you could change it around, which was useful because unless you were going from a walkthrough you couldn't tell what your enemy's strengths/weaknesses were going to be before going into the fight

I'm playing FFX-2 now. It's not as good as a game as the others; the garment grid system is probably the worst in any FF game I've played. I'm not entirely sure about the mission based system although it is part of all RPG's, it's just a bit better when your 'missions' aren't spelt out for you all the time.

Having said that, I'm still playing FFX-2 and I'll continue to play it, and enjoy playing it, until I complete the game. I guess what's keeping me gripped is the story and wanting to find out exactly what's been happening since FFX.

I wouldn't recommend playing FFX-2 without first completing FFX. I don't think I'd enjoy it as a standalone FF game but then it was always meant to be complementary to FFX and not a game in itself.

Umm, I'm thinking of getting X-2 but i got a question for ya.
Do the character's levels, skills and strengths start from scratch?
And do the bosses still take like an hour to beat?

yeh the levels start from scratch.

I havent finished yet but most of the bosses dont take that long to kill.

The game is considerably different to any other FF game. It is like Final Fantasy meets Charlies Angels.

What choppy said, and you only get to play as Rikku and Yuna from FFX. Well, I'm 50% through and I haven't played as anyone other than Rikku, Yuna and Paine, which is a bit of an annoyance if you ask me.

Then again it'd be a bit crap if I started with the previous characters as I'd built them up so much that it took a couple of hits to beat all of the end of game bosses.

I still like the game (X-2) a lot, I'm just saying that it is a little different in that it is mission based. Upon saying that it still relies on it's story to drive the game along. The story does continue from FFX and it does contain most of the characters from the prequel, but it is dissapointing that you are limited in who you play as.

I'd still recommend playing it.

FFVII is one of the best games ever made. It's just so brilliant all the way.

FF8 was really different, not as good if you ask me. It was a lot more realistic.

Im definetely going to go see the movie when it comes out. :p

well, how 'bout comparing what the characters look like on FFVII and FFVIII. that's basically all I meant by posting about realism and finalfantasy anyway.
