Great idea, this'll be very interesting to follow.

About my poker, I've lost 80€ during the summer in poker home games.
We play tournaments with 10€ buy-in and no rebuy, winner gets it all except for 10€ which go to the guy who finishes second.

I've been 3rd 3 times, 5th 4 times, 6th 1 time and 2nd once, iirc.

I lost $50 on pokerstars, then yesterday I bought into a $6.50 S&G with 18 people and won a hefty $43. pondering whether or not to install PKR again, I mean the graphics made my computer lag like a bitch last time around so I don't know if I should bother. is it good gameplay wise?

1) Had that problem too in the past but now on my new laptop it runs as smooth as baby diarrhea

2) Fish pond. 'Nuff said.

I really like PKR. But, there are times when I'm playing when the game ags and I've missed on several good hands because of it. Still, that's pretty rare, and it's really good, IMO.

Is anyone still interested in a Poker tournie? Hopefully for play money?

If you want I can join you in a play money game after this tourny

Interesting stuff Taj, will be cool to see how you manage.

I never found any updates to Ferguson's initial blog post about the 0 to 10,000 run. Was a great read with some really basic rules of bankroll management. Not too surprising he got there in the end.

Ah, yes. This definitely needs to be repeated. (H)

A shame you didn't take a pic of the guy who said he was Tom, though.

What the hell is this retarded BS!

http://www.tlpoker.be/h/3105

Tilted off the rest of my stack in the next hand. There you are, playing a perfect tournament and this crap happens!

This is the 3rd day in a row PKR managed to screw me like this: A9s < KTs, ATs < KTo

Bloody hell, I'm still shaking from this! The damn bastard even had the nerves to say "Thnx m8te"... God, if this was a live game, he'd be a cripple after this!

Guess who's playing Full Tilt's nightly Razz tournament together with 1996 World Series Main Event winner Huck Seed? (H)

Serious dillema and I could use the help of all of you:

Last year I participated in Poker4Charity, a live tournament, sponsored by Everest Poker in Brussels. I finished 5th there (with 2 Belgian pros on my FT and outlasting one of them), which I though was nice achievement for my first live tournament.
A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from Everest, asking if I had some online tournament wins and if I could send hand histories of these to them. I have 6 (although the first two being freerolls) and decided to do this, thinking nothing of it (though I asked them politely what it was for). They told me they were looking to sponsor some players.
Two weeks ago I played a qualifier for Poker4Charity and won it. Later I was told by the tournament director (a good friend of mine) that someone from Everest Poker was scouting me.
Fast forward to yesterday when the mailman brought me the following:

together with a letter asking me if I'd consider signing for them.

Now comes the dilemma: this won't be a big premium sponsorship deal as they will only buy me into tournaments and I have to take care of transport costs and such myself. Nor my bankroll nor my weekend/future job will probably be able to support this. Hell, I don't even play on Everest (only signed up for their site after the tournament but never actually played/that's how they got my e-mail and home adress).

Should I accept or not?

I still see poker as a hobby and I feel I still have to grow enormously in it. I know that a sponsorship would be awesome (even a little one as this) but I really would be throwing money away paying for transport and such (they even suggested me playing in the Seoul APPT event...?!)

Yay or nay?

You need to consider whether your real bankroll could support the surplus costs of transport and lodgings. If it can do so easily, then, you could give it a try, and you might eventually have those costs financed for you. If not, stick to stuff you can afford. You're basically going to be paying to be able to gamble your money, after all.

True, it's not worth the money, I think. It's more +EV to satellite my way into a tourny and get all my expenses (sp?) paid for. I'll refuse the offer and keep the goodies.

On another note:

Hand #211 - Annette Obrestad Wins the 2007 WSOPE Main Event, John Tabatabai Eliminated in 2nd Place

Show This Hand
John Tabatabai has the button. He calls, Obrestad raises to 100,000 and Tabatabai calls. The flop is {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Obrestad bets 250,000, Tabatabai raises to 750,000, Obrestad moves all in and Tabatabai calls. Tabatabai shows {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for two pair, but Obrestad has top set with {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The turn is the {2-Clubs}, and Tabatabai is drawing dead. The river is the {Q-Hearts}.

Carlos Effel pauses play to count down the stacks to see if Tabatabai is covered by Obrestad. She does, and Annette Obrestad wins the 2007 WSOPE Main Event, earning £1,000,000! John Tabatabai is our runner-up and will take home £570,150.

Annette_15 has been crushing online MTT's for the last couple of years, starting her road to success with $9 she won in a freeroll. In only her second live tournament ever she has clearly shown that she surpasses all pros talentwise.
Annette also writes poker history as she is the youngest ever (19-years young) to ever win a bracelet and she is the first female player to win a WSOP main event. Truly deserved victor in what is considered to be the most difficult field in a WSOP Main Event ever.

Been playing some low stakes cash game lately, need to improve my CG skills...

Just hit the sickest run of cards in my young career as a poker player: my first royal flush in a three way all in, AA holding up in a big three way pot and a K8o turning into a full house on the turn with bet and raise before me. No strategy required whatsoever!

Came to the table with $2...

lol!
