Ronaldo on form can make any striker in the World look like a schoolboy, period. I'm not biased, and you all know it's true. The problem is, he barely looks motivated nowadays.

Maybe 8 years ago, he is a shadow of his former self. People are only judging him so harshly at the moment because they are comparing him to what he used to be

when Parreira said that he was smiling, and joking. He wasnt trying to imply that. He can say whatever he wants, as Brasil will always be of bigger importance. Even Ronaldinho.... he loves barca and plays for the shirt etc..etc.. but to all Brazilians...the national side is on another level.

I just read that MArtin wants Ronaldo to stay next year....http://esportes.terra.com.br/futebol/europeu2005/interna/0,,OI933018-EI5338,00.html

You know I really hate it when people say that. Its good that they care for the NT but please I dont give a **** about Brazil ( sorry man but reall I dont ) and until the WC comes neither should the Brazilian players. Its not like Brazil pays these players to play for them and win for them.

It's true that the brazillians players have great passion when they play for Brazil and especially in a WC.Ronaldo is one of them who want to give his all this summer.

Why not give it his all right now?

because he could get injured etc.. and miss out on his legacy which is the only thing he is aparently concerned about.

However the last couple of games I have seen him trying alot, its just the ball never got to him...he is supposed to play a striker role up front.

I see what youre saying socrates, but its about a legacy. Will he be remembered as a legend? If so at what level? But one thing people forget is that Ronaldo has ALWAYS been like this. Its not like its an overnight change...his game has always been like this. Its just now that he's been out of form.

Like I said about what Beckham said in his book...England are up 1-0 in the WC02 and he looks to Ronaldo, and its like he doesnt even care. Like its a sunday kick about...
he does care, look at him when he finally scored...its just that until then he remains calm because things can quickly turn around....

Ronaldo scored 20-25 goals in his first season at Madrid, around 23 on his second and 15-20 on his third if i'm not mistaken. That, on La Liga only. This season he has 11-12. That being off-form.

8 years ago, hmm, i have to disagree mate. Of course, with all the injuries, he cant be the beast he was at Barça, but still, when he turns it on i think he's unbeatable. Like i said, he barely does it anymore.

Hopefully he'll do it once again, for the WC.

hiddink would be a nice choice

i just hope whoever is brought in has a say with transfers, otherwise, we might as well forget about anything changing

i'd love to have del horno at real madrid, though my first choice for LB would be mr. cole, despite his nagging injuries

Im sorry but thats a bad excuse. Could get injured and miss out on his legacy, right  Im pretty sure you would not like it if he was doing this with Brazil.

Its not just about his unmovtatived look but other things aswell. The midfield not getting him the ball is one part of it the other is Ronaldo not moving or making runs to make it happen. You can expect to just stand there and get the ball. Not to mention his off the field remarks.

BTW latest news it that the manager will be Ancelotti, the news about him singing a new contract was to keep the Milan players focused for the CL and the fans calm. Telemadrid and AS are both reporting this.

EDIT 2 - I have not read AS in a while and whats up with their pro Ronaldo campain they are doing? Also Martin and Ancelotti are both on this campain now and according to AS both have said that he is the best forward in the world and that Ancelotti wants him if he comes next season...hmm how interesting.

after watching all of Ronaldo's goals from this season it is hard to call him absolutely useless, some of his strikes have been absolutely superb. And yes he has even scored 2 penalty kicks this season.

so check them out these are some good sites:

http://www.realmadridfans.net/videos.htm - for vids
http://galeon.com/realmadridfans/temporada.html - for all RM goals in .gif

and after that i will officially state my stance on the big fella.
I believe that he should stay at Madrid. He should start if he has another striker with him to support him but not as a lone striker anymore unless he has some kind of Major turnaround before/after the Would Cup. i agree that he needs better service but also he needs to hit some better runs.

What i wanna know is.... why he doesn't turn it on early in a game, snatch a goal, then go lazy?? at least he has scored! (sigh), i dunno. i think he will be at Madrid next year but i can also see some new Forwards being bought in the off season.

.

That summs it up perfectly.

Just pray AS got it wrong - niether Ancelotti nor Ronaldo should be at Madrid next season (as a couple of others)

Kepping a unhappy & unmotivated player - big mistake

I doubt Ancelotti is the right manager for Madrid current situation

WilliamFAlmeida - Where have you that from ? - I can't find any reports of Woody injuring himself recently at least.

Theres no doubt he is still a class act im saying that people are being very harsh on him, they expect him to work miracles like in the 98 days and he quite simpley isnt up to it anymore although he still is Reals top scorer

being Real top scorer with 11 goals just shows how bad the current state of the team is (not only form wise, but aswell capability wise) - as pointed out above it's not only Ronaldos fault, but if you just stand around - nothing will improve (and that's what p*sses the people off in his case)

taken from Skysports.com Spain / Teams / Topscorers

Barca's Top 4 scorers (goals only)

26 Etoo
20 Ronaldinho
10 Larsson
7 Messi

63 Goals

Real's Top scorers (goals only)

11 Ronaldo
7 Robinho
6 Zidane
6 Guti

30 Goals

A 30+ goal difference !

Of corse Barca together with Lyon are probably the best 2 teams in Europe atm and they have some outstanding players - but even they have let's call them "average" players, just look at their GK or the defense appart Puyol at Barca.

Instead of being and behaving like a team, eager to achieve something, some stability in the management, giving yougsters a chance (Barca, Lyon).

At Madrid there are split groups (the brazilians, the spanish, the "neutrals" + which even are split in "Galacticos"/"Pavones" themselves probably)

"oversatisfied" players combined with old legs

seemingly a new manager every 2nd month.

-

IMO What Madrid need in the summer is a "blood change", a radical cut, bringing in hungry players (not necessarily 20 "Henrys") , stability and REALism to the management/board.

Until these things happen I'm convinced things at Madrid won't change.

Well its said that Ancelotti is the new manager and going by that latest article on AS its not looking to great. Also he has asked to take control of who coms and goes.

Here is the article on Woddy being injured again, now its his back :(

1-0 for us so far, I dont know how the game is going because my streams keep ******* up:( :nape:

EDIT Goal 2-0 Ronaldo scores :lui: Finally got a stream that works and Robinho has been great so far, he is so fast and dangerous too. The first goal Becks hit it in for someone to head but it was og second one Robinho backheels it and Carlos does a low cross to an open Ronaldo who scores.

Drvar

Starting XI
oh my f*cking god, did you see that run from Ronaldo? ******* brilliant, shouldve been a goal, that was just amazing.

Can't see the game, but becksfranksteve has been keepin me posted...please please please somebody upload that run he and Drvar was talkin about.

Socrates

Starting XI
A bit of a late response but here it is end of first half and Robinho plus Ronaldo bave been the best so far. Baptsita has looked pretty good too. Ronaldo had a great run where he went past like three players but than the keeper got the ball. He looks more active in todays game.

BenBeckham

Datboy - your feeling about Ronie was right :) good performance by him so far

cheers for the Woody-article Socrates.

Ronaldo had a fantastic scene - back from his old days, a superb dribbling - that would have deserved a goal.

---

Robinho just missed a sitter after blasting over after a nice combo from Guti to Becks.

EDIT

Ronaldo aswell missed a 100% one after a pass from Becks

Cicinho had a good chance saved

Ramos made it 3-0 after a Becks freekick

Raul on for Zidane 73min

Cassano on for Ronaldo 78min - Ronaldo gets lots of applause
