What's the word in Madrid? is Calderón and Villar-Mir the favorites, or what?
im hoping for Calderón to win. :)
Yeah it's a close fight between those two, with Calderon clearly leading cause few people believe the Wenger thing at all, plus it's believed Floren is after Villar Mir, plus Villar Mir is involved in some financial crimes (not proven guilty though).

BTW Inter just denied the agreement with Sanz, few hours after his announcement :funny:

Sell him ASAP (even if he score 3 more hattricks at this world cup)
Surely Clubs are interested in him, the price is going a bit up - good business.

If Madrid really wants to to a "newstart" players like him, Raul etc have to go.

sell ronaldo

his time here has been mixed, at best. He doesnt feel loved, so a change of scenery will do him well. Plus we can get the most money for him if we sell him this summer.

Yes...we must be having the same dreams. that line-up looks killer!

what about Mascherano is he actually free to move?? whats the go there?

I'd say keep Ronaldo for 1 more season. maybe the WC will fire him up. But buy a replacemen anyway. (Kuijt/whoever) just to get them used to the team ect. and then they can battle for starting positions.

has everyone concluded that RAUL will be gone next season? or do people still see him staying?

and please...NO ROBBEN IN MADRID!!!!!!!!!!!!! the guy is not what we need at Madrid.

Quick run down on the elections:

Five candidates: Villa Mir - closely related to Florentino Perez. Has the votes by post stitched up which is one of the reasons that the other four candidates want the Electoral Board to nullify every postal vote. Loads of money, loads of influence. Has the ex-rally driver Carlos Sainz as his number 2. Both men have claimed to have reached an agreement with Wenger to run Madrid if they win the elections. last night they announced that they have tapped up Christian Ronaldo - 4 years 4 million euros net a year. Villa Mir is the favourite to win the elections on 2 July. Also rumours that Villa Mir has tapped Ashley Cole up too.

Juan Palacios - has Del Bosque and has claimed that they will pay the 60 million euros "escape" clause on Iniesta's contract to take the Barca player to Santiago Bernabeau much in the same way that Florentino Perez did with Figo. Palacios also claims to have first refusal on the WHOLE Juventus squad if the Italian club is relegated. Palacios is the strongest rival to Villa Mir atm.

Ramon Calderon is trying to be the "popular" candidate but with the highly unpopular ex-madrid player Pedrag Mijatovic as his number two. Calderon stated that he has Capello as coach. They will announce which players they have agreements with later this week.

Juan Baldasano is a rank outsider - has little capital to back up his campaign. Has spoken to Eriksson, Joaquin and Reyes. Has an agreement with Diarra. Little possibility of becoming president.

Ex president Lorenzo Sanz also states that he has Del Bosque as coach and has various agreements with Italian players if the Calcio is culled.

As for the players at the club, all the candidates have said that Gravesen and Cassano must be sold.

Woodgate, Helguera, Pablo García, Pavón, Diogo and Gutti are walking a tightrope. Although if Sanz wins Gutti will probably stay

Diego López, Raúl Bravo, Mejía and Baptista are staying. Roberto Carlos is still trying to move to Chelsea and Ronaldo has said that he will stay depending on the eventual winner of the elections.

thanks Haukur Gudnason :)

thankfully in 4 days we will know what happens a bit clearer.

Didn't Sanz once say he wants to sell Becks ?

I know all of you love Raul, but I think he should be sold aswell.

Thanks Haukur (Y)

But from what I've been reading in the spanish press these last daysthe order is a bit different:

1) Calderon
2) Villar Mir
3) Palacios (Very far)

Haven't heard about Palacios wanting Iniesta, much less paying his liberation fee. Many fans think he signed Del Bosque and Camacho just for sentimental reasons, not attending to their managing abilities. He's seen as an step back after all.

And Mijatovic isn't that unpopular, he's loved as former player here, and his reputation as football director will depend on the signings he manage to get (and the team successes obtained of course). :jap:

What are you worried about? Abramovich already stated that in 'NO WAY ROBBEN IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE CHELSEA' so that won't happen ;)
Diarra will probably go to England and Zambrotta...well depends on Juve staying in the serie A or if they will be demoted to the Serie-B so that could well happen.
Manchester United already stated that 'IN NO WAY C. RONALDO IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE MANU' he just signed a new contract so better alter your line-up here and there :p
Btw where is Beckham in this line-up, after all he is the man with the best passes possible and still can take killer freekicks.
If you don't want him anymore, please send him back to ManUtd, THEN you can have C. Ronaldo :amika:, he should've never left OT anyway.
