well he got the backing of florentino perez. perez would of only backed him if he knew that he would have the same felosephy as him.

Calderon, he doesnt have to win anything to prove that he is the right man for the job, that is the whole point why i like him he has given all the control of the footballing aspet of the game to mijatovic and capello, which we didnt have before and that is why we havnt won anything for the last 3 years.

VM had a different approach than Perez, I dont see how he would be the second coming of Perez. If anything the coach would have more control with VM even than Claderon because he wanted the coach to also be the general manager so basically Capello would also do Mijatovic's job.

I honestly think whoever won would have given the same amount of power if not more to the coach and by the looks of things the right man for the job should have been Palacios....it seems like he was the winner afterall.

Gago crazy for Real switch
Argentine starlet Fernando Gago has admitted he would jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid and has no doubts he could adapt to European football.

The 20-year-old midfielder currently plies his trade for Boca Juniors and has been courted by some of Europe's biggest clubs.

It seems that eternal rivals Real and Barcelona have the most serious interest in the player with Real having recently sent club representative Franco Baldini to Argentina to set up a deal.

Although nothing has yet been confirmed, Gago appears primed for a January move to the Santiago Bernabeu to provide more creativity to a squad that now has only one genuine midfield playmaker in Guti.

The youngster insists he would relish the prospect of pulling on Real's shirt and feels he now has the all-round game to prove a success in Europe.

"It would be a dream to play for them," he told Spanish sports newspaper AS. "They are a very big club. It would be a tremendous challenge.

"For now I have a contract with Boca and it is a question of talking.

"I believe that I could adapt.
