Cassano dropped by Capello
Wednesday 20 December, 2006

Antonio Cassano has been dropped for Real Madrid’s game with Recreativo after being caught on camera criticising Coach Fabio Capello.

The Bari-born ace, who had already been frozen out of the first team following a bitter row with the tactician in October, was left out of the Espanyol game at the weekend – a decision which annoyed the striker.

Cassano was then caught by a Canal Plus cameraman in a conversation with teammate Mahamadou Diarra, also dropped in the last Liga match, where they discussed their exclusion.

“I don’t play as much as Emerson. Me and you are always out,” said the former Lyon man to Cassano and Ronaldo, who didn’t make any comment.

“Capello only considers the same players, there is only Ruud Van Nistelrooy or there is Raul,” replied Cassano.

“If Raul doesn’t play then it’s David Beckham. Or Ronaldo. After that Robinho or Jose Antonio Reyes,” added the ex-Roma man.

The private conversation therefore became public and it seems that Capello wasn’t too pleased with what he heard.

The tactician has excluded both Diarra and Cassano for the Liga match with Recreativo, although the club’s website states that the decision was motivated by the fact that the two were unable to recover from their respective injuries.

The Azzurri international, who joined Real Madrid in January for just £3.5m from Roma, has been heavily paired with a return to the peninsula during the upcoming winter market.

haha (H) now Diarra can join Milan too :D

but to be fair, Diarra has played quite a lot. I dont see where he is coming from.

i dont know why diarra would complain, the guy's always played, although i am sure cap prefers emerson for some odd reason. As for cassano, nothing that guy does surprises me anymore :kader:

it'll be nice to see both argies presented this week, the club has done a great job in bringing in the players as promised

Maybe because Emerson has actually picked up his form and started to play well while Diarra has been pretty inconsistant. Anyway dont really know how true that article is to begin with.

Jaouadinho - Its about sever Recreativo fans who died while they were travling to Madrid for the match and it states that RM will accept the match being delayed if that is what is decided by the proper authorities. RIP to the Recreativo fans who died.

Becks is God

Reserve Team
i dont mean to sound evil or anythin but cant we just have a minute silence for them before the game, the fixture list is allready heavy for us without having to re-schedule this game.

I've seen some Real games this season. And Diarra has been ALWAYS consistent. Supremely solid in midfield. Theres a reason to doubt the article then.

However, as you may know, Cassano and Diarra have been dropped for todays game againts Recreativo.

Well I like Diarra and he plays well for us, BUT he should shut the f*ck up....because like Capello said, he has played 16 games in a row. He shouldnt b*tch around. And we wont miss Diarra very much, because Emerson is also good. Thats the good thing about this team....we have great players for almost each position.

Cassano wants to leave I guess and Ronaldo is SMART to not comment on such things :D

Let us enjoy:
Gago will come!!! Higuain is here! Marcelo is here! I cant complain about a thing, we have a bright future ;)

here is a stat for u guys we have only lost one match this season when diarra has been on the pitch, that was the game against lyon at the stade gerland.

so if he doesnt play well he always does his job, which is the most important, i think if he played alongside gago or guti he would play even better then emerson.

i dont beleive that diarra said something to cassano about not playing, maybe he was being saycastic or something. :wootman:

You shouldnt look too much on the stats. Mostly our team played consistently good. All the players, not just Diarra. He is one that does his job more than good, but the 10 others also do that. I cant go around it....Diarra is wonderfull as expected, but Emerson is getting better and better in this team. So I dont care who playes. I just want to win.

Team to play recriativo huelva.

Casillas; Michel Salgado, Cannavaro, Sergio Ramos, Roberto Carlos; Emerson, Guti, Beckham, Raúl; Ronaldo y Van Nistelrooy

Yup, shame that Becks plays over Robinho and Reyes! But still he did good against Sevilla so why not. Cant wait to see a great Guti again! :D
