I hope Woody can stay healty this season cuz he class when his is fit. Ramos in the right was great with Spain and Woody and Cannavaro in the middle is gonna be solid.

RB Cicinho, Salgado, Diogo, Minambres - No one needed. I don't expect Minambres to stay.
LB Carlos, Bravo - No one needed unless Carlos leaves, in which case we should buy Abidal.
DM Emerson, Garcia, Borja - It's well covered, but I would prefer Diarra over Garcia. I don't expect Borja to stay.
CM Guti, Gravesen - Well covered, but a Emerson--Diarra midfield would own!
RM Beckham - Beckham has it covered, but he needs a backup. I think Juanfran may be promoted for this role.
AM Baptista, Raul and SS Cassano, Robinho - Both these positions are well covered and the players are are interchangeable. No one needed.
CF Ronaldo, Portillo - Portillo will leave and Ronaldo is injury prone. We really need a CF this year. Ronaldo's constant injuries hurt our results last season. If we get Ruud, we'll be set.

I'd be satisfied with 3 more signings. Abidal, Diarra, and Ruud.

I really am hoping the he can maintain himself on the field, with Cannavaro he could really make a nice tandem. Cicinho is a very limited defender, Ramos is a beast so I guess his move to the right side is kinda' inevitable...

Cole plays for Arsenal. Remember all the bullsh*t that happened when we wanted Vieira? I think Abidal would be easier to buy, but not by much. Alonso and Diarra are both difficult buys. Neither team will want to give up there star DM.

woody is a freaking liability, he's never, ever fit. These lineups with him in it are a joke, to be honest. The guy's played in a handful of games for us, yet everyone is putting him in as a starter. Go look at the posts from when we first signed him, everyone was saying "If he can stay fit...", compare that with posts more recently "If he can stay fit...."

It's time to get rid of him, because let's face it, he'll never be healthy and has proven that over the course of his career.

We need to add another CB desperately, even a mediocre one. Sell pavon, helguera and woody ASAP. God forbid if we are going into a critical second leg of a champions league game and we are starting ramos or cannavaro with mejia

It seems kind of unbalanced with Cassano as an SS insteand of an AML that cuts in like Ronaldinho for Barca and Beckham on the right side seems weird, the styles dont mix well imo. Or am I the only one thinking that? It would be better if we played Robinho on the right and Cassano on the left with Baptista in the center and whoever the #9 will be. If you guys are confused I will make a little miniformation to show you.

The DM sits behind Guti or whoever the CM is. Robinho and Cassano will dribble and cut in a lot to set up chances for Baptista and the 9 or even score themselves. I think this makes more sense than Becks on the right because everyone's style of play would blend better dont you think?

Whats wrong with Mejia? I think he did good last season considering that he had no DM in front of him, attacking fullbacks, and his partner in the center was not always Ramos. I really liked how he did vs Barca, showed Dinho whats up.

This is true...Mejia cant cut it for Madrid...
I say keep Woodgate on the bench the whole season so he doesnt get injured in a game- then when Canna or Ramos needs to sit, put Woodgate as an emergency player....
I really dont see him being fit. But it would be awesome to see him that way...

IMO we should also look for play-maker. We don't have many creative player...well there is only Guti and he is bit unstable. Our midfield for this moment is:
Emerson - I don't know what to expect from him
Gravesen - Well I liked him but he's not good enough
Garcia - Same as Gravesen
David Beckham - Well, I don't have anything against Beckham. But this position could be stronger with other player
Baptista - I think he can have good season. If he will play enough.
Robinho - If he will have even better season than last one he could be our best midfielder

The midfield was the weakest part of our team for a few last season IMHO. And we should mostly concentrate on strengthent it.

A few points on my mind after reading the posts


- It is so much sh*t. Beckham f*cks up our tactics so much. I wish someone would have the balls to f*ckin' get rid of him.

- We are going to have to get rid of one of our CBs. 6 is way to many, especially when Bravo can also move to the middle if we are desparate. And to some of you saying we deperately need another CB, you guys ar crazy! 6 is more than enough to start a season with, there are plenty of other problems that we need to address before we get another CB. If that had been the case, we would have gotten Thuram along with Zambrotta, but Mijatovic knew better thankfully.

- I love Guti, but I think we will try to replace him in the starting line-up, and Capello has already said that we are going to get 3 more signings, one of course being a center-mid.

- Ronaldo is going nowhere unless he is included in a trade for Kaka. I am almost 100% positive he will be playing for us so there is no use in making projections without him(No Offense BenBeckham)

- I really hope that we can get Cole, Lyon are an even harder team to negociate with, and Ashley Cole has a buy-out clause, not to mention Ashley Cole is twice the player Abidal is. Eric Abidal and Asier Del Horno (I know he is already on his way to Valencia) would be improvements at LB, but nothing like Cole.

- Agree Mejia did damn well last year, no need for Thuram. I rather use one of our players and Mejia did a damn fine job last year. . No need for Thuram or another defender.

- Agree, thats why I said another player because I think Guti wont be a starter but because of his versatility he should get a good amount of games ( personally I would perfer him to be an AMC ). Guti's big problem is that he is inconsistant ( partly our fault ) and that he acts like a child at times.

- Yes thats what it looks like, . But I can still hope eh.

- Agree, although his price is high its hard to find quality LB's. I did not think much of Abidal during the WC and Del Horno seems to be off to Valencia.
