The Biancocelesti continue to restructure their squad and, with help from Milan, have reportedly agreed a deal with Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez.

The 25-year-old shot to fame during the 2002 World Cup, when his Mexico held Italy to a 1-1 draw.

He has already been linked with a host of top Serie A sides, above all Juventus, Milan and Roma, but opted to sign for Barca instead.

The former Monaco man has struggled to find first team football at the Nou Camp and would be available for an affordable fee.

However, it is reported that the move to the Peninsula is being orchestrated by Scudetto holders Milan.

They would buy up his contract and continue to pay a portion of his wages while Marquez becomes accustomed to Serie A football during a loan spell at Lazio.

Meanwhile, there is more good news for the Biancocelesti, who have penned a new contract with goalkeeper Fabio Casazza and are close to extending Fernando Couto’s deal.

This does suggest that second choice ‘keeper Matteo Sereni will be sold off after a disappointing season at the Stadio Olimpico.

Oh thats good! Milan own him

Some news to stew over:

Lazio move for Maccarone?

Italian newspapers suggest that Middlesbrough have offered Massimo Maccarone on loan to Lazio, while they agree a move for Oscar Lopez.

The club is in need of players at a cheap rate following their much-publicised financial problems, but the final decision would rest on Coach Mimmo Caso.

It is claimed former Under-21 international Maccarone would relish the opportunity to play in Serie A – a dream he has never achieved as he left Empoli when they were still in Serie B – after two mixed seasons in the Premiership.

The 25-year-old would fulfil the role left empty by the departure of Bernardo Corradi, Claudio Lopez and the probable switch to Juventus of Simone Inzaghi.

However, he is not their only option, as the Biancocelesti are pushing Inter for the services of Argentine hitman Julio Ricardo Cruz.

Cruz can be included in a swap deal now that the Nerazzurri are increasing the pressure on Lazio to hand over winger Cesar.

Meanwhile, it is reported this morning that the Capital club has already agreed a deal for Barcelona fullback Oscar Lopez.

The 25-year-old Argentine will arrive on loan and undergo a medical on Monday. This increases the likelihood that Massimo Oddo will be sold to Juventus.

===========================

Maccarone will be hit with Lazio this season, if he comes, and not to sound like a finook, but he'll look 'sharp' in their shirt as well(Y):$

After VERY slow summer, Lazio is now finally on the transfer market.

went to Barca thread to seek info on Lopez:mrpimp:

Figure out if Milan has won a UEFA Cup before yet? ::funny:

well I wont lie, I've only been a fan for maybe 3 or 4 years now... I started in the season that Milan made it to the UEFA Cup and got ass-raped by Borussia and 4 Amoroso goals in the 1st leg :(

2nd leg was 3-0 for Milan, I nearly creamed myself and then Borussia scored to seal our fate :(

and ya, we help Italy with 6 Champions League titles (H) :hump:

i know I look like a glory hunter. But I lived in Barcelona for over a year, and my family in England are all Chelsea supporters. Juve.... I watched them since '94 WC for Baggio and just stuck with them. They are my first choice.

some transfers:

Adani To Defend Brescia

Gabriele Adani has joined Serie A side Brescia, according to Goal.com’s Italian site.

The former Inter defender was not part of Mancini’s plans, and the Nerazzurro club made it clear to the player at the beginning of the summer that they would let him go at a fair price.

Adani should debut with his new club tomorrow evening during the course of the Memorial Mero tournament.

Meanwhile Lazio have completed the loan of Oscar Lopez from Barcelona.

===========================

Good transfer by Brescia, Adani is a top class defender, and will help a thin looking backline for Brescia. I think he could still play for clubs contending for trophies, but like the club said when they were trying to get Di Biagio, If Roberto Baggio can play for Brescia, than why not.
