Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
Milan derby ends 0-0

I think Inter had alot of good chances and Milan were very strong in the defensive department. Overall, i think the game deserved to end in a tie. at least 1-1 with all the chances each team had.

Fontana was ****in awesome today:rockman:

Good to see Miccoli scoring again (of course the ONE week i drop him from fantasy team(Y)), but they gotta start winning. Best game of the week had to be Parma-Lazio, which over the past few seasons has always been great match with plenty of goals. Great goal by Gilardino, and a nice celebration which im gonna use this week if i score:D. Morfeo played well too, and if he keeps it up he deserves a NT callup.

How bout Lecce, in a game between the two 'surprises', they showed whos the better side. I think Messina has already hit their peak, and will be dropping in the standings as time goes on, but Lecce i dont know. I think 5th place is real possibilty. Theyve got great depth in attack, and Konan a great player himself, hasnt even had an impact yet.

About Big Game.

Shouldve been a better match. The first half was great, but the second half was a big disappointment.

I think the game came down to bad coaching on both fronts. Really, what was Mancini thinking? Could he not see that Cambiasso wasnt doing anything and that Davids shouldve been brought in? or Van Der Meyde A LOT earlier for Emre, who got worse as the game went on. Ive never been too much of a fan of Martins, but Vieri playing just made Adriano worse.

These changes shouldve been made:

Davids in for Cambiasso at HT
Van Der Meyde for Emre at 60 min
Cruz for Vieri at 65 min

I'll punch myself in the stomach for doubting Mancini for bringing Fontana into the side. I was against dropping Toldo as i felt hed done nothing wrong, but Fontana has been incredible so far.

And than theres Ancelotti. Ive never really liked the guy, even though hes been so sucessful past two seasons. Milan can play so beautiful at times, but more recently ive seen more games like today. Why bring on Ambrosini? Wouldnt Rui Costa have been a much better choice?? If it wasnt for Sheva's brilliance, and Nesta's dominance Milan would be in a lot worse shape than they are. I was hoping Inter would beat Milan 4-0 today, just to shake this team up and for Carlo to change his tactics. Im sick of watching such an offensively gifted team play so static and unimiginative. I hope Berlusconi agrees with me, and 'straightens him out'.

Speaking of Nesta's dominance, todays performance, WOW. Adriano has been destroying EVERYBODY this season, and Nesta has controlled him better than anybody. Truely the greatest CB in the world today. Che Bellisima. Not to say adriano had a bad day (he made Cafu look his age a few times), but when he came to Nesta, he was limited.

and roma should have lost
when montella got taken down in the penalty area he was offside

f*ck no, Roma should have been ahead before half time when Totti hit the post 2 times and they deserved a win Roma played better than Palermo just unlucky...

Are you sure you were watching the same match I was Mikey? How was Shevchenko brilliant?

BTW I agree that Vieri should have gone off, but it would have been best if he had gone out at halftime and Martins had come in. Martins has a good track record vs. Milan's slow, but solid D really giving them nightmares with his speed.

Cruz is a Juve killer, not a Milan killer ;)

I meant overall this season. He's won many games singlehandedly.

Was Recoba injured or just not selected? because i wouldve played him over cruz and martins.

so if you hit the post 2 times, then you deserve to have a penalty called on your favor that shouldnt have been called on first place?

palermo were ahead, roma was given a pk, so they tied.
looks to me that palermo deserved to win

tottiiii

Starting XI
Roma Palermo game was great...one of the best 1-1 draws ive seen ...Totti was on another planet and the team was attacking good and Palermo was playing real well all over the place, there right winger was amazing in the first half..he looks like a real good player...a draw was the fair result id say

Official: Fiorentina Sack Mondonico
10/25/2004 5:06:00 PM
Emiliano Monsonico is no longer the coach of ACF Fiorentina, the Tuscan club announced this morning.
“The club, with enormous surprise, has taken act of the comments made by Mondonico after yesterday’s game, comments that the club doesn’t agree with as his job was never on the line. Therefore Fiorentina have the obligation, for the importance of the project, the fans, the players, and the city, to take into account the personal problems outlined by Mondonico, and to end the job assigned to him. As a result of this decision, the first team guide is now handed to Sergio Buso,” said the statement.

At the end of yesterday’s game at Udinese that ended in a 2-2 draw, Mondonico had said.

“I am ready to leave, if the fans want me to.”

‘Mondo’ took over Fiorentina’s reigns midway through last season, and led the team back into the Serie A following a dramatic play-off with Perugia.

However the Viola’s performance this season has been disastrous to say the least, as the team have only won once in seven games played.

Alberto Zaccheroni is the main candidate for the vacant bench

Zaccheroni would be a good replacement though I think that Fiorentina should opt for Cuper instead. He's ace at taking mid-table teams and bringing them to the top even though he can't seem to win.

Watched the Roma game, cant believe Totti hit the post, what a free kick, superb. Must be frustrating to be a Roma fan eh?

The Milan derby was a brilliant game to watch, the football was quality, a better quality than UnitedvArsenal, saying that I mean the actual fluency of passing, the accuracy, and the ability to keep the ball. Even Roma did it. I love tight games like that, don't get me wrong the Arsenal game was really good, but the Milan derby was just such a high standard.

Crespo's cross (H) He did it with his left foot too right? He got good elevation for such a tight position eh.

So why isnt Davids playing regularly for Inter? I see him training every day so he isnt injured? Also like Mikey said, what about Recoba? Also why hasnt Andy been playing? And was Martins dropped?

About Cassano, what dya think about him having to train on his own for another week lol. They say it's for improvements but I suppose the new coaching staff don't want anyone to be bigger than the club, maybe he'll come back the same? Who knows.

But yeah I loved my dose of Italian Football at the weekend, seeing Roma and Inter was really good :)

Also there's a big big Thursday night game 2 eh? Is it JuveVRoma? Or am I mistaken? It's a big game though if I remember correctly, is it a cup match?

Ya, the Milan-Juve game only lacked a goal. After watching highlights, i realized it was a much better game than i remember. The big EPL match wasnt shown here, as unlike past years the 'big games' are all on PPV(N). I saw highlights though, and it looked like a scrappy game. I wouldnt compare the Milan derby to the Arsenal-UTD games though. Milan-Juve (the best two teams) is really the biggest showcase of Italian football, though Juve-Roma will have a lot of emotion.

About Davids, i dont know whats going on. This guy is just a flat out better player than any of the other Inter DM so i cant understand him being on bench all the time.

Martins has been out since Roma game, so thats why he didnt start.

Van Der Meyde has really been one of the better players for Inter this season, but with all the talent in Inter's midfield it seems even thats not enough. I think felt his side did so well against Valencia he felt no changes were needed for derby. I think there best lineup would be:

Fontana;Materazzi, Burdisso, Zanetti, Favalli;Davids, Stankovic, Van Der Meyde, Veron; Adriano, (whoever is in best form/depends on opponent)

And hey, too bad Kamara missed that breakaway on the weekend, although he did well to get the chance in the first place;)
