who the hell wants to see a meaningless Juve game???? Ok, maybe theres the celebrations afterwards, but the game is pointless and i can be lucky TLN arent showing it. Im speaking for all those that arent Juventini of course.

Id pay 20$ to see Fiorentina-Brescia.

speaking of which:

Viola to drag Siena down?

There are worrying reports that Fiorentina supporters are planning a pitch invasion if they are relegated on Sunday – effectively dragging rivals Siena down with them.

The Viola are furious at the refereeing error that cost them precious points in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Lazio, as Luciano Zauri should have been sent off and given away a penalty for punching the ball off the line.

Now even a victory against Brescia might not be enough to keep them in the top flight, but angry fans are planning to take the matter into their own hands if the match ends in a draw.

The new zero tolerance policy on crowd trouble will see teams automatically lose a game 3-0 if there is a pitch invasion, even if it is a peaceful one. There are reports coming out of Florence that fans will stage this incident to give Brescia a 3-0 victory – effectively dooming hated rivals Siena to Serie B as well.

Siena will be safe if they manage to beat already relegated Atalanta, but if both ties are heading for a draw then the Viola could leave Serie A with one final act of petulance.

There are other layers to the final round of this season, as Sampdoria have the opportunity to push Bologna into a relegation play-off with a win at the Stadio Dall’Ara. It would be sweet revenge for the Blucerchiati, who were doomed to Serie B in 1999 after an extremely controversial 2-2 draw here.

has anyone actually seen the Zauri incident? how bad was it

wow. either fiorentina fans are really stupid and ignorants or....nah, who am i kidding. they are stupid and ignorants.

the 3-0 loss will be given to the team whos fans started the invasion, so, if in siena- atalanta, fiorentina fans invade the pitch, the victory cant be awarded to atalanta because the people invading arent siena supporters.

and if that happens, i'd like to see fiorentina gettin the 3-0 loss (H)

---

yeah, the zauri incident was very very obvious. they where denied of a goal, and of a penalty and a red card for zauri (H)

Serie A Round 37: The Best Eleven
5/24/2005 8:35:00 PM
Here goes Goal.com's Serie A team of the week for the 35th round of matches
Tactical Formation: 3-4-3

Goalkeeper

Marchegiani: Won his personal battle against his former Italy team-mate Pagliuca thanks to a great save in the match’s dying moments that could mean ‘Salvezza’ for the Flying Donkeys.

Defenders

Mexes: Played pretty badly for most of the season, but in these last matches the French defender sent extremely positive signals to the Roma fans for what they can expect in the next.

Di Biagio: Scored the game winner against Messina. The former Inter star is leading Brescia to an improbable Serie A stay.

Mandelli: The Chievo defender scored what will probably end up being his team’s most important goal of the season.

Midfielders

Milanetto: A good all around match for the Brescia midfielder, who also found the net for the first time this season.

Serginho: Every time he plays, he’s one of Milan’s best on the pitch. Must start in Istanbul.

Tonetto: Sampdoria’s best player on the pitch against Inter. A great season for him. Nazionale coming soon…

Cambiasso: Against Samp he confirmed to be Inter’s most valuable player for this season.

Forwards

Vucinic: Two more WWE style celebrations for the Lecce Serbian phenomenon on the weekend. Expect him to join a Serie A giant over the summer.

Protti: Will hang up his boots at seasons’s end, and what a better way to celebrate his grand career than by scoring a goal against the Campioni D’Italia.

Iaquinta: If Udinese earn a Champions League spot, it will be in large part thanks to their striker’s magical season.

Coach

Conti-Roma’s Brunetto finally notched his first Serie A win as coach of the Giallorossi. When a nightmarish season final appeared certain, Conti was able to bring out the best in his players, who now have some silverware to aim for.

Serie A: The Relegation Scenarios
5/23/2005 7:34:00 PM
Never had a season of Italian football been as passionate and hard-fought as this year, and this is highlighted by the fact that there are still 9 teams involved in the relegation battle with just one matchday to go!
Looking at all the teams involved in this battle, we find three fallen giants (Lazio, Parma and Fiorentina) who currently risk losing their Serie A status. Funnily enough, of all six of this season's newly promoted sides, just two (Lecce and Fiorentina) are risking the fall.

Let’s take a closer look at each different possible scenario. Basically, with 9 teams within 4 points, there are an incredible number of combinations (to be exact 2,187!) which could also lead to a play-off decider.

The teams who are closest to survival are: Lazio, Lecce and Reggina. These three teams have 43 points and a point would be enough for them to reach safety. A defeat might still see them avoid relegation but then it would also depend on the results other teams obtain. However, the worst scenario possible for Lazio, Lecce and Reggina is a relegation decider, but statistically speaking, its very hard that this will occur.

Next in line is Chievo with 42 points. The Flying Donkeys will be facing Roma at the Olimpico stadium. The Giallorossi avoided a dramatic season final last weekend as they defeated already relegated Atalanta. A lot will depend on whether or not Roma will want to honour their last match of the season. Motivation will play a decisive factor and Chievo will surely have a lot of this! A win would guarantee them survival; a draw would also save them as long as Brescia does not win or one between Parma, Bologna and Siena do not win. A defeat would then see them hoping in positive results from other pitches, otherwise Serie B football would become a reality.

At 41 points we find another three teams: Bologna, Brescia and Parma. The Rossoblu will be facing Sampdoria at the Dall’Ara with the Blucerchiati still vying for a Champions League spot. This makes it a very difficult encounter for the Rossoblu who must win at all costs. Otherwise with a draw, Mazzone’s side will need Brescia to win or that Parma and/or Siena do not win. Theoretically Bologna can also end up in a decider if certain results occur, but even this scenario looks highly improbable.

For Brescia the situation is similar. They have to win the direct encounter against Fiorentina; otherwise Serie A football is at big risk for them. A draw could still see them avoiding the fall if Siena fail to win or if one between Parma or Bologna get defeated. They might also end up playing a decider against Chievo, Bologna or Parma if all teams end up with 42 points. Even with a defeat, Brescia can still save itself if both Bologna and Parma lose.

With a win, Parma would be safe, but with a draw the Gialloblu will need to hope for a Brescia win and that either Siena or Bologna do not win. If that is not the case then once again we have to look at a play-off. Also in case of a defeat, Parma can still hope that Fiorentina do not win and that Siena lose.

Siena’s Serie A future does not only depend on beating Atalanta as their destiny depends also on other teams. The Tuscan side must hope that Fiorentina wins or draws against Brescia, or that Bologna and Parma do not win. If they draw, Siena must hope that Fiorentina lose and that also one of the other teams at 41 points loses so to be able to play the decider match.

Just like Siena, Fiorentina must win and hope in other results like Siena not winning or that one between Bologna and Parma lose. With a draw or defeat it would definitely be Serie B for the Viola.

As you can see there are an infinite number of combinations which could sway the relegation towards one team rather than another. It is very open to any solution and anything can happen. All we can do is sit down and enjoy the last Serie A weekend of the season (unless you side with one of the above endangered teams that is).

Things are looking alright for Fiorentina. A home win against Brescia, and Samp beating Bologna could happen, and this would keep them up (Y).

I hope Siena, Brescia and Atalanta go down.

in this scenario, siena have a chance of getting a goal and staying in serie a
fiore hate siena, so the fiorentina fans with invade THEIR OWN GAME

so effectively sending their own team down, as well as giving brescia a victory, and leaving Siena unable to survive in the process

stupid none the less,

Here Taddei, Roma tomorrow
Wednesday 25 May, 2005
Roma are likely to be Rodrigo Taddei’s next club according to a number of reports in Italy on Wednesday.

The Brazilian will leave Siena on a free transfer in the summer and the Olimpico outfit are in pole position to land the winger.

Taddei was already close to joining the Giallorossi at the start of the season before the Tuscan side blocked the move.

The player’s subsequent refusal to sign a new contract saw Juventus and Inter also join the race to sign him, given that no transfer fee would be required.

Yet the 25-year-old seems to have opted to move to the Italian capital and his switch could be confirmed as soon as Sunday evening.

Whispers claim that Taddei has agreed a four-year contract worth around £600,000 a season.

Taddei’s arrival could in turn allow Roma to sell Amantino Mancini who is being associated with a transfer to Valencia.

Meanwhile, Giulio Falcone has penned a new two-year contract with Champions’ League chasing Sampdoria.

The 31-year-old defender, whose previous deal expired in June 2005, is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury.

Zauli issues capital plea
Wednesday 25 May, 2005
Palermo ace Lamberto Zauli is looking for a summer move to one of the two Roman clubs.

The attacking midfielder is out of contract with the Sicilian outfit next month and a switch beckons.

"It’s looking increasingly likely that I will leave Palermo," the former Vicenza player told GRT.

"Roma and Lazio are keen? To play in the Italian capital would be very stimulating for all players and that includes me."

However, Zauli admits that he has yet to have any contact with clubs interested in his services.

"I don’t know what I will do yet because this is a very difficult time of the season for clubs," he added.

"A lot of them are still unsure about their future and therefore that affects their plans for the future.

"I just hope to stay in the top-flight, hopefully in Rome."
