I dunno why Virgo is getting all this animosity towards him. He´s just being cautious and analizing things in a realistic way. We all know what usually happens with all the Benfica dream teams and all the high hopes before you guys get a disappointment and come back to a reality check. I know you guys have reasons to be pleased with your win against Beira-Mar but you can´t get carried away just because of that. Remember Anderlecht? Things can´t stay the same just because of a mere league match win. There are clearly problems in the Benfica team and there is a struggle btw the players Trappatoni wants to use and the players the SAD wants to see. There is a conflict of interests btw the Sad and the managerial team. There should be limits in Veiga´s influence, i mean you are just going to give total confidence and alliegience to a man like Vieira? What wrong with being cautious? Im sure if more Benfiquistas were like Virgo possibily figures like Vale e Azevedo would never had set a foot on Benfica.
I know that Benfica is the people´s club but this fascination towards demagogic and populistic ppl (Vieira and Viega) isn´t a good policy and we all know what usually happens.

one more thing, i agree with Virgo(who is by far the most realistic Benfica fan on these forums). Karadas scored two goals. good job. doesn't mean he played well.

Jardel would score 4 goals in a game, but he didn't do anything all game, but score. didn't mean he played well.

he did what was important but he didn't play well. One goal was a tap in, the other was a HUGE mistake from Beira Mar.

I emphatize again after 10 years without a championship ppl have to be cautious and wait a lil longer before making wrong assumptions. Besides ppl feel things/express themselves in diferent ways. You may not agree with the way he supports the club but cmon question his love for the club? I´ve seen alot of good and lucid posts by him that already proved that he is true Benfica fan. The best supporters are these, who constantly question whats going on and by that who help improve the club. Better then the "comodistas", who are just sheeps and that support any guys who comes up with idiotic promises of getting Rui´s Costa´s and etc etc.

But, i think that i can't doubt about LFV... neither any Benfiquista... if anybody is doing that is being unfair...

A president that recover Benfica from a financial situation very bad, remember news reporting that Benfica was even near to close the doors... of course that couldn't happen, because there would be always some fans that wouldn't let that happen...

But Vieira, and first Vilarinho, gave stability to Benfica financial situation... A new stadium, a young team is being builded, we are not seeing what was usual, change a team every year, like buy 11 players and sell another 11... This year, from the 1st team only Tiago was selled, that gave us money to BUILD THE "CENTRO DE ESTÁGIO", and for his place we have Manuel Fernandes that his our hotest prospect and could be even better than him... You are not seeing Benfica buying GREAT expensive players like Cannigia and Roger... LFV projects pass buy building a team that can be mantained with one or two changes by year only...

There shouldn't be many people disposed to take a presidence seeing Benfica situation... Benfica was very close to "falir"...

But now, we are recovering... And yes, it will be an hard job, and WE (suporters) need to help them... that's our job, to help them when they need us... I can see sinals of recovering... we win the Portugal Cup(i know is to few to a team like us) but more will come if Vieira keep doing this job... Pacience it's what we need... Benfica return is near, The only fear i see is Veiga... but i hope Vieira did the right choice...

Now, Virgo... He criticise Karadas as soon as Benfica buy him... He didn't see anything of him except for two excelent games against Benfica...

He can be a flop... the new Pringle, yes he can...

But after this game, he only deserve support, because he made not an average, but a GREAT game, and NO ONE can deny it...

I just really hope that when Benfica come back to victories, "supporters" like Virgo doesn't came to celebrate...

You base your arguments on things as stupid as Veiga being portista. Man I bet you 99% of all directors in every sport aren't managing in their 'clube do coracao'.

We all have doubts in Vieira, Veiga, new players, but you can't judge anybody on what signings they make, only how the signings play. At the end of the season criticise all you want if we're not campeao, because I'll do the same.

Just give the team/direccao time. We'll see.
