The smaller Serie A clubs threatens to boycott matches against the big one's

Some of the "smaller" clubs in Italy (Fiorentina, Sampdoria and a few others) have threatened to not play against Juventus, AC Milan and Internazionale in the future. They feel that the TV money handed out after the season should be shared more fairly, and that the smaller clubs should get as much as the bigger teams do.

Fiorentina owner Diego Della Valle puts it this way:
- Either we will not play them at all, or we will play with our youth teams so that the interest in the games will be minimal.

I think it's only fair that the smaller clubs should get as much money as the bigger one's, so that they can have a fair chance of doing well also (without some rich Russian coming in to help)

EDIT: here's a link, but it's in Swedish.

you are an idiot, they would "just play to win" if they had more money and a chance of beating the bigger teams

The deal in England where its shared is the best, amongst Sky.

Offers fairness and variety.

Money is already given out for performance already based on where they are placed in the league at the final standings.Television money is seperate, and should be equal.

The money should be evenly distributed.

Juve would do fine in the event of this, given the refs are in Moggi's pockets. :boohoo:

I agree 100% with Della Valle.

All this PPV TV is ruining football, do you guys know how much ******* money Juve and Milan are making just because of Sky??

well, you can't really blame the TV networks for wanting to show juve and milan and inter games, and you cannot blame the clubs for wanting to get some money...as you cannot blame the smaller clubs for wanting a bigger part of the money..so it's not going to change imo...

it won't be too long till most matches are PPV.

the small clubs r right, how can they compete if the money is making rich clubs richer and the poorer teams not getting as much money. 2 teams play the game, not just the powerhouse.

well if Juventus are signing a deal that is more than £50 million pounds for TV right thats ridiculous. What about teams like Sampdoria that will probably not get more than £15 million???? How will these teams survive if they keep paying the lower team peanuts and the big teams just get richer?
