The Stadium Selector doesn't work

It seems that your winzip does not extract the files with the path, do this:

extract the files in any folder, then create a folder named fifauruguay in the fifa2002 main folder, and then inside the fifauruguay folder, create another folder called stadiumselector.

so you'll have this:

fifa 2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\stadiumselector.bat
and
fifa 2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\converter.exe

now follow the instruction, creating 2 folders in the stadium selector folder: one with the new stadium files inside and the other empty.

and thats it, hope it works this time.

btw: why doesn't winzip extract the files with path I gave them?

i have done exactly as you said but stll the same thing and its not working

?

I dont get it, look, after the extracting you'll have this:

fifa2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\stadiumselector.bat
fifa2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\converter.exe
fifa2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\original1\ (empty folder)
fifa2002\fifauruguay\stadiumselector\oita\ (8 stadium files)

and thats it, when you execute the SS , select the install stadiums optin and thats it, the program will ask you for the names of the stadiums and thats it.

hope it works this time:D

I'm really sorry that it doesn't work for you but do you have the files like I told you in the post before this?

and one thing: a friend tryed it in win2002 and it seems that in that windows the batch scripts doesn't work.
we tryed a few basic batchs and nothing, the thing just started and closed at the second.:(

I tryed it in win98 and winME and it works.
It sucks that it doesnt work for you.:( :(

and rossoneri: do you have the folder and files as I showed in a previuos post?

because there's nothing special in this bat. is a simple batch script so I dont get why it doesn't work:confused:

so, what happens: the batch starts and finish real quick right?
thats what happened to my friend with win2000.

but for example, does this batch works:

@echo off
echo Hi this is a test
echo Option 1 is Hi
echo Option 2 is Bye
choice Options: /C:12
if errorlevel 2 GOTO HI
if errorlevel 1 GOTO BYE
pause
exit

:HI
echo Hi
:BYE
echo Bye

so copy this in a txt and change the extension to .bat, it should work, if this doesnt work then it seems that win XP does not accept bat files, because I tryes this in win2002 and it didnt worked:(

Download WinAce... it can create the best one .ace, and also .zip, .rar and many more... it can also read and extract them alll. better then Winzip or Winrar!!!:D

XP is based on 2000/NT technology hakeem, not on 9x technoloogy, so that would be the problem.

yeah it seems that in win2002\winXP you cant make batch scripts with menues and user inputs because the script just start and finish in seconds as if the batch doesnt have user inputs, pauses, etc.

But the good news is that I'm making a new visual stadium selector that will not use the batch menues and inputs.:D

just give me a few weeks while I learn some new things about VB:)

Possible Solution to problem!!!

Hi there,

I downloaded the StadiumSelector v1.1 last night and had the same problems as mentioned above. I am using XP but that is not the problem.

I followed the instructions to the tee but the batch file ends immediately without doing anything.

What I found to be the problem is that the batch file uses choice.com for the selection, but choice.com is not part of the zip file once extracted.

As soon as I downloaded choice.com everything worked fine.

This is the problem I had and how I fixed it, might help some of you other guys having the same problem.

Thanks,

Garth.

great!!!

but what is choice.com???
is like the command.com??

so its like an add-on to MS-DOS?

and where did you get choice.com and where did you put it. please explain everybody.

And thanks for posting your solution:D

it seems that this is necesary in winXP and win 2002

Hi there guys,

choice.com died with the win9x versions of Microsoft operating systems. NT Worksation, W2K and XP do not have the choice.com dos utility.

I have included the choice.com as an attachment of type bmp, just rename to choice.com

Put the file in the path (c:\windows, c:\winnt, etc) or in the same directory as the stadium batch file.

Cheers,

Garth.
