I've never understood why they never seem to implement some of their ideas and devices from their other sporting franchises for the FIFA series
I mean NBA Live 2000 (2000!!!!! that's two years ago) had player faces which resembled most (all?) of Real life players (even all the old ones, like Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain etc.) and facial expressions etc. etc. It even had a feature where you could through the game (no third party editors) add your own face into the game, needing only a scanner and a frontal photo.
Only in 2002 do we have the realistic player faces, and we don't even have the ability to EASILY add our own faces.
Why is this? it's technonlogy developed two years ago. It really cannot be all that hard to put into FIFA.
Also, NBA live 2000 ( i use this example because this is the one i play the most) had a transfer and draft system, albeit rather basic. Still, you couldn't trade your crappy 40 yr old centre for Shaq O'Neill. The computer teams wouldn't accept bad trades. And very rarely would they part with a star player. Computer teams even INITIATED transfers. Surely this could be used as a bade to make a more realistic transfer system
The NHL games have assists. Why can't FIFA? The NHL game give MoMs based on stats other than goals scored/shots saved. Why can't FIFA?
I'm sure there are probably many things which other EA Sports games do well that FIFA should be doing just as well.
Why is this so? Are the teams so fragmented? Can the FIFA team not use the features thought of by the NBA team?
I could never just understand how FIFA could be so far behind the other EA franchises
