Well, I've been to New York City a lot in the past 4 or so years on trips, and most of them have really been let-downs, but for the first time I think I've finally gone to a place actually worth the traffic getting in and out of the Lincoln Tunnel, a place that goes by the name of the USS Intrepid.
There's lots of interactive things to do inside the USS Intrepid, including 2 g-force simulators. One in which you get a chance to go through a virtual simulation of being a pilot and having a co-pilot gunning down targets for 4 minutes. The other G-force simulator, unfortunately is a little on the corney side, but it's still worth the money.
Going up to the top-deck of the aircraft carrier is a nice experience, lots of people about, and a great view of the east and west sides of the Hudson.
Lots of good souvenirs to pick up while you're there, such as dog tags( ), model planes, model kits, as well as shirts and hats and the other normal novelty items.
This is one of the first times in my life, I can say going to NYC was worth the traffic. I'd recommend this as a trip to anybody, great experience.
