slightly off topic: may I suggest just giving your optionfile a version like 1.01, 1.02 for the sake of understandability by the masses, etc rather than gold, platinum... what's after platinum? lol

One more suggestion: I notice alot of players especially in EPL that haven't seen the light of day in any matches, not even on the bench. This leads to "player rot", similar to Arsenal666's legendary PES3 optionfile (earlier versions). What I mean is, in ML, teams start disposing their expensive players because there is an excess of a player in a position. And what you get after 10 seasons is alot of supernobodies in these teams while the stars are unemployed!

You may one to take the lead from his mistakes and get rid of these nobodies and replace them with first team players on other league's teams. I recall he got rid of these nobodies and ML became more realistic.

If that is too much hassle, maybe consider just releasing these players from the clubs and make them free agents so there is still a sense of completeness.

I think realism goes out of the window with squads in ML this year after the first two seasons to be honest! By the time the first 5% of players have retired and regenerated ML becomes more like Alice in Wonderland anyway which is unfortunate.

I don't think the stat conversion is bad at all to be honest. There don't seem to be too many players people disagree with and when they do it tends to be one person more often than not. Too many people seem to think the scale in PES4 ranges from 0 = no ability to 99 = perfect ability which simply isn't true. These are professionals we're talking about and in reality, even the worst professional in the game is still at least reasonable at many attributes in real life. The stat system in the game works according to this so the difference from 50-99 is really good to excellent not average to perfect. It's just when you place them next to players with vastly higher stats that you see a marked difference. If 99 equalled perfect then that player would never make an error in that attribute. Try changing a players shot accuracy and technique to 99 and they'll still miss the goal because there are so many other factors involved.

I'm not concerned about the people who want players stats changing because more often than not they don't have a clue about the scale involved or really know what difference it would make anyway. If they couldn't see the stats for themselves they wouldn't even notice.

Yeah man, I'll change Saha's face, hopefully in one of the threads I'm going through they'll be a better face for him.

Also, for Monaco, can you list the formation in the game it should be, there are a number of 4-4-2 formations. Also, if you could list which player should play in each position that would help. By the way, Plasil has some really crappy stats!!!

I'm looking for errors to correct not one persons unique opinions of who the best players in Europe are despite nobody else being aware of the fact and how the widely recognised best rated players in Europe are actually secretly crap but only he knows about it!

this is not about my personal taste. otherwise i can change just his stats and keep silent.

ronaldo is just a striker, he does not have the capability of mid field control etc. TV records say everything.

player stats do affect game experience more or less..................

let's see, beckham is specialized in long pass rite? and he has 90 more in long pass, and ronaldo who seldom give long pass in his life also has 85 in long pass ....which means if i switch them, that wouldnt make difference......

I think their default formation goes well, as Kallon can be seen as an OMF playing on the right side.

From that, the list of players should be :

I know Plasil's stats suck, even though Deschamps stated he is the best technician of the whole squad. I guess Deschamps isn't part of the FM rating team.

few things I've noticed from your latest WE8i patch/opt file.. The dominant feet for Clark (Fulham) and Downing (Middlesbro) were wrong.. Also, Beckham's sleeves should be "always long" rather than "seasonal".. Was it just me or did everything else spot these in the patch as well?

1 question, wolf.. in order to update the default stats of the game myself, do I need to open the option file in yannick's program, then create a para_we8.bin, and insert it into my 0_text.afs using AFS Explorer?

Ultimately it is up to Yannick to determine how stats are converted. From my observation, certain stats matter greatly between 0-99 and some that do not. Take for example dribble speed - someone with 70 and 90 dribble speed makes a huge difference! Whereas shot power isn't noticable between 50 and 99. So like I said, ultimately it is up to Yannick to change it.

Another thing about ML - the computer doesn't discrimate between primary and secondary role. So by being too lenient with positions e.g. Salgado as CBT, the computer WILL mess up formations. I know you said that your intention was that it is better for CPU to play a known player as a replacement than a youth player but as a result of that, CPU will play the best player for each position not only if the starting line-up is injured etc. You had good intentions but the real life results are not as it seems.

My solution - get rid of youth players/B team players from squads ALTOGETHER... that way, the end result will be the way you intended.

Hope you understand what I mean.

ur kidding right,try taking a shot with someone who has 50 power from outside the box,it'll just lob into the gks hands,im playing a league with barca at the mo and ronaldinhos power is 92 i think and his shot are like rockets.also i dont think getting rid of youth players is a good idea as we are starting to see youth players more and more in teams like hoyte,clichy and sendoros at arsenal

Those aren't youth players since they actually PLAY a few matches a season. Youth players are the one you dont ever see in regular premiership matches and only OCCASIONALLY warming the bench in obscure cup competitions.

i found that beckham doesnt have SMF at the first place
chelsea's bridge should have SMF avaliability as well
i found many random players having every position avaliability
also there had been a big abuse of having CMF
most of them shouldn't have had CMF as one of their positions

one more thing, van bronckhorst's shirt display name was a mess, "G I O"???
