LMAO!!!!

But seriously, if the book says sh!t like that, it obviously bollocks.

The issue of whether Jesus and mary Magdalene were married/ lovers/ whatever goes back much further than the Da Vinci code.

I don't believe the teachings of the Bible... well mostly the Old Testament

I was reading some stuff in religion class today and all I saw were paragraphs about how God hates the Assyrians and will punish them... I'm Assyrian :(

That means specifically the Assyrians at that time. In the Old Testament, God favors those who believe in him and punishes those who reject him. When his chosen people - the Jews - disobey him, he turns against them just like he turns against everyone else.

But the essence of Christianity lies in the New Testament. This is the way I look at it: if something is said in the Old Testament, I look to see if it is confirmed in the New Testament. If it's not, then it does not apply to the present day.

Yes, of course it does, but then, the Bible goes back much further than it.

I would agree with that - the Old Testament certainly is pretty hardcore, and I like to think of real Christianity as being the nice, easy going version which I follow :p

Not sure what you are on about here...

ANyway, why do you think Mary Magdalene fell to her knees everytime she saw Jesus? Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were asked to leave the room at this stage :brow: so it's not surprising the details aren't recorded.

Yes, I know not all the gospel writers weren't around at the time

Yeah I think "pretty hardcore" is a great way to describe it. I mean, they used to stone people for comitting adultery. But then Jesus came and said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." That's why I think Christians should always check the Old Testament against the New Testament.

Yeah it's full of stuff like that, like that Samson guy who kills thousands of people with a ox jaw bone. I never expected it to be so brutal.

I wish I knew what FCC meant :(
