Anybody else playing it? I've recently started, playing on a free romanian (Blizzlike) server called SpiderNet (currently having World of Warcraft v1.12.1, will be getting The Burning Crusade in a couple of days). So, what's your current progress and your most difficult battles? I've just started a new character half an hour ago, an Undead Rogue, currently level 2 (:$).

To anyone who doesn't want to f*ck up his life, refrain from buying this game. I've seen alot of me friends f*ck up, getting totally addicted to this game.

No good, go play Mario FFS.

Moreover I personally think this game sucks. I played it once, really didn't see how so many people could get so addicted to this game.

Zlatan I don't wanna get addicted to it, it's just that I haven't played a really long game in years and I've been searching for one. I tried to do that with Morrowind but I didn't like it at all.

Ruud, that's a pretty god-like character. :D How long did it take you to reach that level (knowing that you're playing it rarely)?

same here man, a friend lent me his copy of the game and warned me about how addictive it was, etc too... but I couldn't take more than 15 minutes before I had to shut it off. I didn't get the appeal either.. to be honest though, I really didn't know what I was doing.

Not at all:

Nice items you've got on it :). I'm trying to get to some higher level areas, with a mate of mine who's got a L32 Rogue Troll, hopefully I can get some more experience and buy some better stuff.

Not really, it's just regular quest rewards and crafted items. I only have my epic Darkmoon Faire necklace left from the pre-expansion era.

My friend was level 70, he played it all day, sometimes skipping school to play it. Recently he said **** it and sold all his items and ****, so now he quit cold turkey.

Well, obviously I do, or I wouldn't have been able to get past 60. The added content I've encountered so far is really enjoyable, although the blood elf area comes with a lot of running around. Looks really good, colourful and bright. Haven't done any of the new instances.

I had 2 lvl60s before expansion, a priest and a paladin but I got tired of playing them and sold the account.

Now I bought the expansion and started a new Blood Elf Paladin to play with my real life friends, I'm at lvl 49 atm.

Try wiki, it has everything about it there.

Anyway, kicking orc ass with the bow totally rules! (H)

Understanding your Q is "what is this game all about?", let me put it to ya:

The first part of the game consists of basically doing quests and gaining experience points till you reach maximum level, which is now 70. To get from one level to the next you need a specific ammount of experience (xp) points. At the first leveles you need very little..2-3000 points and you can get from level 1 to 10 pretty fast. However..from e.g. 69-70 you need somewhere around 800,000 points which will take a day or two to get. XP points are gained from killing animals and other computer controlled monsters and from finishing quests.

When you get to level 70 you no longer gain XP so that's the time people start to collect gear. Gear being weapons and armor + some various items such as rings and trinkets. You still do quests at this level, but you get items and money, gold, instead of XP for finishing them, and the difficulty has increased a lot. Pre Burning crusade you needed 40 players to work together in order to finish some of the high level quests. This is also called raiding. After the burning crusade the raids have decreased to 25 players who need to cooperate.

So, in very few words, that's the game. Any more questions and i'll be happy to answer them.

Edit:
I didn't bother to go through the basics of who fights who and such since it's explained in the first post. Just know that Alliance is the good, and Horde are the bad AND ugly.

Do I need to get both WoW and its expansion pack (Burning Crusade) to play or the expansion pack will do by itself? Because getting both is pretty expensive.
