Physics Engine is crap.
In order to get it to work on the PS2 they have gone for the simplest physics for rebounds and deflections. Instead of working out where the ball will go , based on spin, power, hieght and angle they have just said let it go to the neaest players feet ,usually the cpus. Why bother go for a slide tackle when you know the ball is just going tom go the nearest cpu player. I have also noticed that if any of your players are offside, then the ball will deflect to them.
Heading is a joke.
No control on when you jump, power, or even direction. the cpu on the other hand can do any type of pass it wants
Jumping players.
Players jump when you have not pressed the jump button, especially on the wing. They will also kick, head or slide tackle for the ball, without you pressing a button.
Shooting Direction
Alnost every shot will go past the post, no matter what player you use. This is crap. Unless konmai have discovered a new type of physics, the ball should go equally past or inside the post. also a lot of time the ball will go in the opposite direction, so if you aim for the left post the ball hoes to the right.
Shooting Power.
Why is it that the power bar goes to its maximum when i just tap it. This is a bug. The power of the shot is dependent on how hard you kick it, and how fast the ball is travelling. Yet even if the ball is still, my player still blasts over the bar at maximum hwne i just tap it.
Master League.
Sensible soccer worked on half a megebyte, yet ps2 has 32mb.
Refs.
Huge differenne between what the cpu gets and what you get. Konami must have forget to put in the code to book cpu players , just like they missed the code for variable weather.
Intecepted Passes.
Instead of porgraming the cpu to actuall interecpt the ball, they just prograamed for your pass to be a perfect pass to the cpu, even if the cpu is not even in line, especially the goalie.
Throwins.
This is one of the worst throwin system i have played. A lot of times your players don't even move or even worse they stand together. Why is it that the cpu can stand nearer than my players.
A.I of human controlled players.
Players still stand still and run away from the ball.
Hit and Hope.
Most of the game you have no control of, all you do is press the button and hope it goes where you want.
Through Balls - No control on power, curl and a lot of times direction. the cpu will sometimes make the pass go in the opposite direction you are facing.
Passing - Why is it that you can't pass to players who are very close.
passing - You can only pass to 2 people the furthest and sometimes the closest. The cpu can pass to anyone.
Crosses - No conrtol on height, speed or curl. Most of the crosses don't even go where you want. If you double tap the circle you expect the ball to go to the front post, yet most of the time it goes to the back post. The manual pass is useless, as it has no speed. Sensible Soccers passing is far better than PES.
CPU Advantages:
They can do a prefect pass anytime, anywhere. Even if they are on the floor they will do a 40 yard slide tackle pass. They can do through balls which have curl.
Fouls, usually in a game the cpu concede 20 to 30 fouls and hardly gets a card. they hardly get booked for last man fouls, but when you bump into the cpu player as the last defender you will most likely to get a red card.
Instead of improving the A.I of the CPU all konami have done is crippled your players. Less control on shooting, heading, passing, through balls. It looks like Kinami are starting to copy E.A and just improve the garphics or add a different sound track.
