Boy, your player's AI it's you, so... :boohoo:

What an arrogant respons... :kader:

In Pro Evo 5 there is no system like in Fifa where you can control your own players, when they are off the ball....this is very anoying, because your players don´t run at the right time and their AI is in fact like 6 yo boys....

I often expect a run from my teammate, but he DOES NOT RUN...and so I loose the ball...this is not my foult, but it´s the game that is stupid!!!!!

Physics Engine is crap.
In order to get it to work on the PS2 they have gone for the simplest physics for rebounds and deflections. Instead of working out where the ball will go , based on spin, power, hieght and angle they have just said let it go to the neaest players feet ,usually the cpus. Why bother go for a slide tackle when you know the ball is just going tom go the nearest cpu player. I have also noticed that if any of your players are offside, then the ball will deflect to them.

Heading is a joke.
No control on when you jump, power, or even direction. the cpu on the other hand can do any type of pass it wants

Jumping players.
Players jump when you have not pressed the jump button, especially on the wing. They will also kick, head or slide tackle for the ball, without you pressing a button.

Shooting Direction
Alnost every shot will go past the post, no matter what player you use. This is crap. Unless konmai have discovered a new type of physics, the ball should go equally past or inside the post. also a lot of time the ball will go in the opposite direction, so if you aim for the left post the ball hoes to the right.

Shooting Power.
Why is it that the power bar goes to its maximum when i just tap it. This is a bug. The power of the shot is dependent on how hard you kick it, and how fast the ball is travelling. Yet even if the ball is still, my player still blasts over the bar at maximum hwne i just tap it.

Master League.
Sensible soccer worked on half a megebyte, yet ps2 has 32mb.

Refs.
Huge differenne between what the cpu gets and what you get. Konami must have forget to put in the code to book cpu players , just like they missed the code for variable weather.

Intecepted Passes.
Instead of porgraming the cpu to actuall interecpt the ball, they just prograamed for your pass to be a perfect pass to the cpu, even if the cpu is not even in line, especially the goalie.

Throwins.
This is one of the worst throwin system i have played. A lot of times your players don't even move or even worse they stand together. Why is it that the cpu can stand nearer than my players.

A.I of human controlled players.
Players still stand still and run away from the ball.

Hit and Hope.
Most of the game you have no control of, all you do is press the button and hope it goes where you want.
Through Balls - No control on power, curl and a lot of times direction. the cpu will sometimes make the pass go in the opposite direction you are facing.
Passing - Why is it that you can't pass to players who are very close.
passing - You can only pass to 2 people the furthest and sometimes the closest. The cpu can pass to anyone.
Crosses - No conrtol on height, speed or curl. Most of the crosses don't even go where you want. If you double tap the circle you expect the ball to go to the front post, yet most of the time it goes to the back post. The manual pass is useless, as it has no speed. Sensible Soccers passing is far better than PES.

CPU Advantages:
They can do a prefect pass anytime, anywhere. Even if they are on the floor they will do a 40 yard slide tackle pass. They can do through balls which have curl.
Fouls, usually in a game the cpu concede 20 to 30 fouls and hardly gets a card. they hardly get booked for last man fouls, but when you bump into the cpu player as the last defender you will most likely to get a red card.

Instead of improving the A.I of the CPU all konami have done is crippled your players. Less control on shooting, heading, passing, through balls. It looks like Kinami are starting to copy E.A and just improve the garphics or add a different sound track.

I hope u have tried pressing the direction buttons right and left while crossing the ball...
Wen u have players making runs on the edge of the box, press the button left if (the goal is to your right) and if u got a lone striker racing with defender..press right to put the ball in front of him..the double tap system is gr8 this year!!
keeps the direction buttons pressed and then double tap..voila..ur probs solved...apart from the others tht bother u...

op - oh really?? strange how my statistics on winning is like 17/20 for winning and 1/10 for drawing and 1/20 for losing.

adapt the the computer ai. its not that hard you know, as i play 10min games with 6 star mode, arsenal v man u/barcelona/liverpool/chelsea and i can win practically all the games.

To me this is the best pes ever...granted there r flaws but what i like is that u HAVE to ADAPT ur style of play according to the types of players u have n the opposition....u have to 'prepare for the match'....m playing the ML in 21st season with Man Utd and the players u have matter a lot...there attributes r there for a reason....e.g RVN has a 99 shot accuracy, technique and power currently and 9 times out of 10 he scores from the box when i get the ball to him...he is my lone striker (play 4-3-3) with 2 wingers in support.

And yeah i dont like the throw ins....i think they can have more players or u can control the players 'off the ball' and press a button to pass them.

I say the more realistic the game, the more apparent the flaws.
This is the case with PES/WE.

I heard this discussion before with next-gen graphics. The more realistic they are, the easier it is to compare to real-life graphics, and the more apparent the graphical flaws.

Had PES/WE been an arcady game like Fifa, many of its minor flaws would have been overlooked or even praised.

However, and one has to admit it. Eversince PES3/4, Konami has been improving the game with slow microscopic steps.

Read the official changes in PES6..... its like an update to PES5:
http://www.pes2007.com/

PES2007 Game Features

- International Challenge mode, allowing you to take a side through
qualifications for a World Cup.

Translation: We've added a 'mode' any softcore game editor could have complied. Without any special software.

- Passing, shooting and through balls all become 'simpler' allowing more fluid gameplay.
Translation: We've corrected a minor flaw in the previous game.

- Referee's are less likely to give free-kicks for niggly fouls.

Translation: Yet another flaw that wasn't supposed to be there from the 1st place, corrected.

- Quick free-kicks can be performed using R1+L1.
Translation: We've added an insignificant move nobody ever asked for.

- New "Random Selection" match mode.
Translation: Finally, a dream come true for every PES gamer... NOT.

- More responsive manual player switching.
Translation: It took us an entire year to save you 0.0000001 seconds when switching players. Makes a world of a difference.

- Players making off-the ball runs and identifying where they want the ball playing by pointing.
Translation: They already make these runs in PES 4,5. Now they just point where they're running. Something EA made in Fifa'2002. That's a good 4 years ago. Another highly demanded addition.

- Defenders jockey for position and strikers work to turn their opponent as they receive the ball.
Translation: they "jockey"? Ok.

This has always been the way with Konami's WE/PES. Every game looks like a slightly updated version of the other one. That's what you get when u don't have a competition.

Lets hope with the next-gen games (PES7, WEPES2008) they appreciate more the money players put into getting the gane, and spend more time improving it.

sounds xcitin but i hope konami can improve the presentation..

What EA have over konami is 3 things.....audio, licenses and presentation....if konami gets any 2 of these right, fifa will be dead if it isnt already...but cant wait for the demo :p

Ironically, these seem to be the exact 3 aspects of the game Konami seems completely satisfied with.

Here's my two cents.

The CPU does cheat a bit, but its not unbeatable. If you're a FIFA convert, like me, you'll be wondering why the players don't respond so fast. Just take your time and don't rush your possession. Take your time to look for open teammates, even if you have to pass back. Don't expect to push the ball a lot. I find that using the Quick Setting and adjusting your strategy helps. Once you get an opportunity to shoot, well I can't help you there. It's a 50-50 chance that you'll get it on target. I still miss sometimes. I guess it does depend on the player, although I've used Walcott to score some "uncharacteristic" shots, while Henry seems to miss a lot.

The only gripes I have are with player switching and reaction time. Players seem to take forever to turn 180, that is my players not the CPUs. I also don't get why they run in straight lines and can't cut in to recieve through passes while CPU players seem to move freely. I don't understand why it takes forever to switch players too. I always end up getting the player NOT closest to the ball, which seems stupid.

Anyways, all I can say is keep playing and eventually you'll get the hang of the game. It's not perfect, but its way more realistic than FIFA.
