** Things I HATE in PES2 **

1: Lack of in-game options

you cant put fouls on/off
you cant put offsides on/off
you cant put bookings on/off
you cant put injuries on/off
you cant change referee strictness
you cant add a player/change sides during the game
you cant restart the match
you cant view an instant replay
you cant change game speed

2: Gameplay

The goal keeper cant drop the ball when its in his hands
The goal keeper cant pick up the ball when its at his feet.
There is no advantage during the game
You cant get close to the goal keeper when he has the ball
You cant get close to the goal keeper when the ball bounces and thers a 50/50 chance of getting it. it seems as if you're being held back.
you cant get infront of a player when he is being thrown the ball in a throw-on situation.
there is no offside trap button
players are fouled too easily - even if they run into your legs after you've got the ball
you cant skip ingame graphics i.e being booked after a foul


3: Team Managment

you cant FULLY customize a teams formation like you could in PES1 i.e 4 or 5 strikers instead of the 3 you are restricted too.

4: Edit
you cant edit/customize a teams tactics in the "edit" section
there is no team management option under "edit"


WHY ISN'T THIS GAME ON THE PC?? IT WOULD BE SO AMAZING - YOU COULD EDIT EVERYTHING WITHOUT HAVING TO BURN IT ONTO A CD.

Hey guys, go back to FIFA and make the game as unrealistic as you want. I apologize on behalf of Konami for making a realistic game and not giving you the options to make it unrealistic.

We understand if you decide never to play Konami games again and revert to playing FIFA.

And about the freedom, I think WE or PES has about the most freedom you can find in a football game.

I was only joking though, well partially. Look, I liked fifa also in the past, but that was the only football game I played. Now that I actually played more and different football games, FIFA is one of the worst to be honest.

As far as the 'football fan' comment...I realise theres alot of smart bros out there just playin it for the REAL league aspects of it....but how are you a fan if you continue to play if you CANT HEAD THE BALL?? Thats like a basketball game with no three pointers or CANT DUNK....I HAVE NO REMORSE for people who fail to realise that WTS/Tif is FAR better.....WTS is in the middle...but....WINNING ELEVEN IS HOLY!!!! fair enough you cant do these in a REAL match. but this is a game, i should have these options. it should be my choice.

2) you cant change sides half way through the game or ADD a player. if your playing 1 player and someone else wants to join. you have to start a NEW game. very frustrating.

3)you cant foul the goal keeper. it should be up to me wether i want to foul the keeper or not. i should have this option at least.

5)team managment has been put a step down from PES. why cant i put 10 players up front? its MY choice im the manager!!!!

6)not enough FREEDOM. what konami need to do is play fifa, take all the good things from them, namely the OPTIONS and add them to this game. PES is by far the better game, but its these little things that are slowing it down in the world of football-gaming!

i'll add to this when i remember the rest, right noiw i'm off to cry about liverpools chances of getting into the CL.

-yawn- A post complaining about what now?! I really have to cringe at times about our right to be able to post whatever B.S. we feel to show to everyone. PES2, well...

1) You can do all those things in practice mode. Just select to do a practice match, turn off fouls and offsides and there ya go! ...feelin' like FIFA yet?... NO!?... okay....hmm.

2) Why would you decide to play with the wrong team when you really wanted to control the opposing team?! Is this so when you go a goal down, you can control the comp. team and let your original team score a goal, then swtich back again? and letting someone join in to play... I never realized it was so annoying to start a new match!... oh wait... sorry... heh...we're looking for FIFA... right right! My bad!

3) Sure you can foul the keep, what are ya talking about! OOOH wait! you want to be able to just bull rush him right? Slide tackle him when he is getting ready to do a drop kick down field!? I see how that can be very useful. Yup, FIFA is the one there!

4)Hell man, not only can you watch the replays after a goal, you can save them. (wondering if you have ever scored in PES2, or played it for that matter). I slightly agree with replays whenever though. It's a pretty miniscule portion of the game though. not really needed. BUT.. you know what, there is a game I can think of that offers such things! You guessed it... it's FIFA!

Freedom eh. -yawn- heh. Strategies wise, if you have played PES2, then I am sure you would know how to position your players and the type of strategy to use so that you can basically push everyone up into the box if you really want 10 guys up front! I really can't fathom how you can even conclude that this game doesn't have much if any freedom. but before I keep ranting, I have to hold my tongue here... we are looking for FIFA now. The game that can do all these things!

On a serious note,to be honost here, and this is not to be taken in some kind of rude way. BUT if you, like you state, HATE these things that are APPARENTLY missing, I think you should stick with FIFA. Why play a game that has things that you just HATE about it?! Man, that must be pretty rough for you to make yourself endure through such percieved flaws! Do yourself a favor and play FIFA man!

The things he's asking for is almost like enabling cheating, though very possible in every FIFA.

Obviously, KCET wanted the game to be honest(?) and challenging, eliminating ways to cheat a lossing a game.

Yes, if you always want to win... play FIFA.

the collins english dictionary defines option as:

choice; thing chosen; freedom to; something lacking in PES2.

i think i'm the only SANE person here. i'm suggesting these should be options, you nutters. obviously (for example) if you dont want offsides off, fouls off etc, then DONT put them off, but at least there should be an option to choose. sometimes i play against my younger brother (who's only a begginner) and its fun to have bookings off, its great to foul the last man and not get sent off!! or score 10 goals by being offside. its FUN. F-U-N, FUN!!!

ii couldnt care less about winning every math or switching sides to win. what would be the point? i've been playing PES/ WE games fpr years. and i love them. MUCH better than FIFA games, it was like love at first ...er....umm...play.

stop crying about it ladies. this game is fine as it is, but with a few extra options it would be even BETTER. as for those FIFA comments, how dare you! i'm a PES fan all the way

dont tell me you've never played the game and not wanted to add a player (friend,brother etc) half way through. its quicker than going back to the menu. what if you're playing 2 players and wanted to add a third. its cuts out the time having to start right from the beggining.

and as for the replays. well at least most of you agree. watching a fantastic run resulting in a miss-of-the-season and not being able to re-view or save is a little frustrating. right?
