This forum is going the same way as the FIFA forum

Ok. So for years we fans of the product of KCET have laughed at the way the FIFA forum was full of editing threads: "Beckham's new hairdo download!!11!", and "New Adidas boot sets!!", like it implied there was no gameplay behind FIFA as a game. Now PES has gone to the PC (not a bad thing), and we find that this forum has gone the same way. Now I know that editing is all great, but it shouldn't overwhelm the great discussions on gameplay etc that we used to have here (and still do, it's just that they are buried under an avalanche of editing threads now).

So, as a solution, can we get a subsection in the ISS area for editing/patching etc? That way we can free this forum for the really interesting stuff.

Well we did get a tech issues forum a few weeks back even tho only 20% of people actually post thier tech probs there. I think the mods said that editing topics should be posting in there also..but again, no one actually does.

didnt there used to be an editing sub-forum?

I think its a good point about too many editing threads. Really a forum should be for talking about the game.

lol :D @mayor

IMO this forum needs 4 subs:
- gameplay
- editing
- technical issues
- game footage
:mrpimp:

What's wrong whit edit threads? I think it's great editing a game... i almost never see the non editing threads...

I second all that. We NEED separate forums. It doesn't make sense the way it currently is. I don't uinderstand why they got rid of the editing sub-forum in the first place. And the number of forums FIFA has in comparison is just absurd.

IT went like that because when I put it too what everyone wanted, that was the result I got. I clearly made the thread a sticky and made sure that the title included "important, concerning all users"

I'm sorry but the thread was up for a good while

I do see your point though. I did add the technical forum in hope that it would count for all the editing and such but we get so many threads in here about editing that by the time I've moved enough into the forum, theres another batch on the main forum

If a tech/editing sub-forum was created and virtually ignored, why not not create a "gameplay strategy" sub-section and all of us interested in that aspect can set up a new home there -- thereby making the regular forum the tech/edit section by default...but secretly...let's not tell anyone.

This ain't no hating, by the way, on those who edit and those who have tech issues -- it's just two different monsters that need to be seperated.

tbh, the main reason i come to this forum is to look how i can make my game better by editing, dont really care for the pes vs fifa, omg look at this goall threads.

No, I don't think we need so many separate forums. It's boring sometimes to have to be checking every sub-forum =\
I think a Patching/Editing sub-forum should be added and with that is enough ;)

There is only so much u can talk about the game. I win 95% of the games now, so talking about the game is pointless for me now. So yeh talking about editing to make the game more interesting will now dominate conversation now seeing as PES3 has been out for a few months now.

agree, we need just one sub-forum more for Editing stuff;
Technical forum is dead and ppl link this subforum with seemingly n00bie questions "why my PES run slow" or "how do i install kits"
editing forum from its nature is forum for mastah :D who knows this secret knowledge HOW TO PATCH/EDIT A GAME and time ago, when Editing forum existed it had a great popularity - ppl have written there
to separate this things (editing - non editing) would be welcome if Editing Forum could back

im very agree with you, maybe its necesary another forum and the fact that everyone complains their problems and doubts(like me) is boring/stupid, but i rather have info about updates on graphics, etc. than discuss how good is the game when we all know and have our personal opinions;)

Whenever you have a PC game that is also editable and import/export enabled, you will always have a very bouyant editing and updating system and market.

I think its great that at last you can have all that great gameplay that is PES and also now have the wonderful kits and stuff that is floating around these forums.

I don't think it at all detracts from the forum or the game itself. I have installed a few of the updates I found here and for me it has made my PES even greater an experience, so rather its improving the game and people's experience of it.

And as I was discussing with a PES friend the other day about these forums, the one thing, the one main difference between this one and the corresponding FIFA one is the total lack of gameplay updates :)

I think the difference is that for FIFA over the years the challenge wasn't playing the game it was improving it, breaking it down and altering it, including the 20 or so gameplay updates that applied to each year's game.

Ultimately though as a true PES'er I would rather play PES original unpatched with the generic kits, than the top whack FIFA with all the bells and whistles.

When we start seeing posts for updates to the actual game physics, then I think that will be the time to REALLY start worry about the editing posts in the PES forums.

Look, I've got nothing against editing. I think it's absolutely great to be able to mix and match and make the game you want.

However, what I do have is an issue with over 80% of the threads in this forum about editing. It's harder to find discussions about the game these days. And because it is harder to find these discussions, they tend to be alot less lively than they were previously.

I could release a gameplay movie, and in a day it could be on page 3 due to the sheer volume of threads on editing.

Make one separate sub-forum for editing, and one for normal PES stuff. Problem fixed. People interested in editing can go into the editing forum, and the rest of us can read stuff about actually playing the game.

I absolutely agree.
due to loads of editing threads the rest of "normal" threads are going down, and after day or two ppl even can't see them (who check old pages?)
there are some cool threads (like "Screenshots" ;)) which come back from time to time and some 'normal' threads without response (and this is main reason of replies like "anyone?")
imho old style of sc forum was the best (Editing Forum for editing stuff and kits/balls/boots threads, Game Footage Forum for some cool goals/screenshots/gameshots threads and main forum for the rest (announcements of new patch, most popular probs and all kind of gamplay threads)
slowdown problems are generally solved and could be stored in one big sticky thread (there already is one pinned with two main links)

I'll see what I can do, but I feel like I'm changing the set up of the forum every few months, but I do suppose its here for the majority of users enjoyment so I'll get it sorted but it may take a month or two
