This is quite frustrating--I thought that AC Milan and Inter Milan palyed at a stadium called the San Siro. HOWEVER, when watching the derby the play-by-play punks kept saying that they were playing at a stadium called "Gieuseppie Meazza" or something like that. Apparently this Meazza guy played for both Milan clubs but mainly for Inter and the stadium was named after him. So what the crap happened to the San Siro? Is it called San Siro when Inter is the home team?

If this Meazza guy played more for Inter shouldn' t Inter' s home stadium be called "Gieuseppie Meazza" and AC Milan' s stadium be called the San Siro?

the milan supporters call it the san siro. the inter supporters call in the giuseppe meazza. mainly because the milan fans don't like calling their stadium after an inter legend ;)

it goes like this.

The stadium is located in the San Siro district of Milan. It was, until recently, officialy named, the San Siro.

The offical name of the stadium was however changed to the Giuseppe Meazza. That is the offical stadium name now, and has nothing to do with what club plays what, however it is still of course located in the San Siro district.

It is still most widley known as the San Siro becuase, that is what it is (imagine someone saying that Old Trafford was no longer to be called old trafford. It would still be called so, offialy or not). SO while is is generaly still refered to as the San Siro, the offical name of the stadium is now the Giuseppe Meazza.

Listen, really, it's Milan fans who called the stadium San Siro. Don't get confused.
Who was Giuseppe Meazza? A legend of the thirties, twice World champion, played some 300-400 games in the Serie A (a lot at that time) and scored I don't know how many goals.
