EA sure knows how to sell a product. Even I was impressed.

Though I'm sure in real gaming, having these skills at the tip of ur finger would totally blow the gameplay off.

But nevertheless, impressive.

EDIT: Now that this has been moved to the FIFA vs PES forum, I want to make it clear. This is NOT A pro-FIFA thread. I believe that Fifa, in comparison to PES/WE, is -simply put- predictable, unrealistic waste-of-time-playing game. It is many years behind and will stay this way for at least 4-5 other years. That is if Konami doesn't improve, which is unlikely with next-gen gaming on the horizon.

That being said, these moves look nice, including the rabona cross not in the video.

All this does is show that it'll be another arcade game.

So what.. As long as it's good fun. Latest editions of both Fifa and Pes have seriously lacked the sheer fun element. Arcade, simulation, whatever, as long as it gets us excited and doesn't become dull in just a few gaming hours.

the gameplay will still suck :kader:

You don't know that yet do you?

But I don't enjoy arcade games.

So you'd rather have a dull 'simulation' than a fun arcade game? And what do you people mean by arcade anyway? It's not like fifa has any explosion effects or double-damage power-ups or something. It's still a representation of a football match with a somewhat different approach than Pes. Let's see what it plays like first.

Guys PES/WE could never be described as a "dull simulation".

Every match in WE/PES is packed with real anticipation, struggling to score and defend, unpredictability and challenge in a way not a single Fifa game will ever reach.

But this Fifa07 was really impressive in the amount of "obvious" animations added. In comparison to Konami's 1000 hidden animations, which is a good thing. But hardly sells a game.

By the way, many other animations haven't been included in this video (which isn't the intro by the way), like, the "Rabona Cross"....

Funny thing about Fifa07. The geniuses at EA Sports JUST DICOVERED in the year 2006, that shooting must also depend on the player's angle, and the relation of his body to the goal, and not only his attributes. Hillarious.

I always find EA's promo movies for their games MUCH MUCH BETTER, PROFESSIONAL and LIVELY than Konami's promo movies. These really are people who know how to sell a game.

So far, all Fifa07 previews say the gameplay is as crappy and unrealistic as 06.

Impressive movie, though ;)

It is impressive, but it doesn't really make me want to go out and buy the game. I don't want players pulling off tricks left and right in my game. I care much more about in depth, realistic gameplay.

This last move in the video.... very neat :D

But again, however impressive and flashy it looks like, how many times has anyone actualy seen it done in a soccer game??? Never. I haven't even saw it on commercials.

I'm sure EA assigned a simple Shift+D combination thingie to pull it off... or worse. Shift+direction.

Flashy though.

i think it's just crap. obviously fifa sells well enough, so no need to do any drastic changes to the gameplay, player models etc. Adding tricks like those is usually not hard - probably took them longer to shoot the video then to actually add the moves to the game engine.

I agree this is easy to add. I remember back when I used to play Fifa2002, there was a patch that regular gamers did, that would replace the original tricks with other fan-made ones.

The hard thing is, how to implement these tricks into the gameplay in a natural way that improves it. Which is where Konami excels in my opinion, and where EA tries to "fool" ppl by. But if it's easy, why doesn't Konami show off its excellence in its promo videos?

because konami don't need spend his money for advertising, because the best advertising is by users satisfaction... order passed on orally...and it invest his money in good programmers to have the best Soccer in the market, not for create a pinball as fifa...

Being the devil's advocate, I recall even up to PES3 that you had to have your toe facing the goal to get a good shot on net...which wasn't all to realistic either :jambo:

EA= Electronic Amateurs......... :lui:

Come on the only decent sport game they release is Madden.

But fifa is not so bad compared to the rubbish NBA or Rugby..........enough said.....enough sad.........

But Konami should work their ass off in the graphic engine. I mean if u have a look at NBA2k7 u can see how far away Konami is on that part. :jambo:

I like the movie and i will try the fifa 2007 demo when it's out. I like it to have some tricks in the game, pes is a bit boring about this. Shure, in pes and we we have some tricks but most of them are all a show. When playing 1 on 1 again the goalkeeper or deffender i need more tricks, so i hope konami will work for that!
