Tips on Option file player slots and solution

pubb

Youth Team
I heard and found something interesting on player slots in option file.

in EditPES4OptionFile, we can see #1-#4999 'unused player' slots and #1 - #183 'created player' slots. Clear the player name, then you can see the number of the slot.

As I know, #1312 - #1472 are reserved for Classical players. I'm not sure there are any special effects for those slots or not.
#4823 - #4922 are reserved for 'Youth players', that you can see them in 'Youth player' category of EditPES4OptionFile. All of them will be limited in age when playing Master League. Don't know the detail of it because I never played ML myself. I believe they are of a certain usefulness, maybe the growth curvilinear.
#4923 - #4999 can't be saved in para_we8.bin, so they can't appear in Master League and Online mode although we can use them to play in Match mode. The same effect goes to all 'created player' slots.

Unfortunately, we have used the slots ignoring the special meaning in Phoenix patch's option file. Then we have problems reported especially in ML and Online. All that I know to fix them are MOVING players created in #4823 - #4999 slots to free agents' slots resided below #4823 (except the classical players). I have found an easier solution (than manual recreate) to do moving things. That's PESFAN_editor.

I think everybody can get this utility easily from web and know the basic HOWTO of it. So I directly show how to move players using the function 'import individual player'. Of course it is just my way to do it, somebody will have a better way than mine.

>1.Get a list of the problemed players
We can achieve it by 'Make csv stats file...' function. The CSV file can be open and edited with many applications. I used Microsoft Excel. The players are listed in 'Index order', that is to say, #4823 - #4999 player will be showed at the tail. Save the names in whatever format you like.
>2.Create a copy of the option file you'd like to edit
PESFAN_editor's import function is based on file to file, so you have to get another copy including the players needed to be moved. Open it as the 'Import file'.
>3.Locate a free agent in 'Free (not in a club)' category
Remind of you, 'Free (not in a club)' is not really free agents as what EditPES4OptionFile shows. Don't choose the one who is in National team or any other group. We can read it in the right black window. Also, don't choose one above #4822 slot, or you will have to move him again. The free players can be listed in 'Index Order' too. And when you double click one, you can see his slot number in the window title. My personal suggestion is not to choose a free agent that is not too young, not too old, or wel-known, because they are probably transfered into a club.
>4.Import a problemed player into this 'free' slot
You will see 'import' button if you already 'opened import file...'. Click it and you will see a player list with all players in your copied option file. They are showed in Alpha Order only, so you have to refer to your problemed players' list prepared before to find one and double click to finish the move.
>5.Go through step 3 and 4 one by one until the last problemed player is moved.
>6.Exchange the problemed players with their replacements
Then there're duplicate slots for each problemed player. Exchange them both in Clubs and in National teams and clear the problemed players to be 'unused'.

btw, Dkz Database editor can export/import individual players too. But it operates on para_we8.bin. Don't rely on my HOWTO too much. I'm not professional and take no responsibility on what's gone wrongly.
