Tips on Volleying

Argh how the hell do you hit a good volley on PES4!!?!??! My mans on his own and the balls dropping down i hit [] and my man does a feeble header!?!? What the hell!!? Can someone give me tips on volleyin?

Here you a tip:
1. To hit voley he ball must be waist high ot lower
2. Than you just press [ ] or hold [ ] for more power

and now to succed for step one is gode to use R2
Hold R2 when the ball comes to ypur player and press oposite direction - this will make your player to step backward and avoid to hit theball whit head or chest.

That's what i can tell you.

timing and use of supercancel are important at volleys..

but i still think pes3 volleys are 10x better and more natural than pes4 ones.. volleys in pes4 are stepback IMO...

I agree. So much is a stapback.... they always take some good features out of the game for no reason.

I think standing away from where the ball is gonna land and tapping the [] frantically normally pulls off a volley, i scored an amazing wayne rooney goal froom 30m by doing this.

Yea its annoying when the ball drops to him in a superb position, you press Square hoping he will pull the trigger, and then he headers it?..

And when your lucky enough to get a volley, for me, 10/10 it never leaves the ground.

totally agree
in situations I always had a volley in pes3, now I had only ridiculous headers or scissors

there were too many scissors in pes3 btw. but now volleying is screwed up (no chances for normal a'ka Zidane volleys)
plus they can shot from air but with only with inside of foot what looks weird
and those outside of foot 25 m passes... damn

Also when you want them to header it, they scissor kit it from the 6 yard box, wtf is the point..

Torres is the worst for that, the little runt.

It would be nice to add some sort of button combination system alowing user to choose, what kind of shot/pass player would execute. For example: I hold L1+square=volley; hold R1+square=header. It could be different button combos of course.

Yea that would be better, atleast with that you know the outcome, pressing square is far too random..

don't agree with that combo thing,
pressing circel 2x in fifa 2000 you could perform volley shot,
that was ball**** idea and i don't want pes to scrow the
gameplay like fifa.
the gameplay is not as spectaculare as pes3,
in pes3 the anmation was brelliant like volley, half volley, first time volley, chest & volley, first time shoot, rocket shoot, chest &shoot, and scissors shoot
they where preefect, that was the beauty of the game, they should have never change that in pes4, if pes4 could had all the volleys like in pes3 and easy to perform, that would have been the best football game in my life and far a head from any football game, i know its still the best football game, but with out all this, the game looks like is not completed
