I don't know about anyone else but is anyone getting bored about the way that almost every thread turns into a debate about why fifa 2005 is still crape and why pes is beta or why pes sux and fifa's next version will kick the last pes game's butt?

Well, this thread i hope is different. I wanted to talk bout the way that i believe fifa games are very much improved and seem more realistic when played with a gamepad. I played fifa 2002, 2003 and 2004 with a keyboard. For years i thought that buying a gamepad would be a silly idea, when i felt that i played 'so well' with a keyboard. However, this year, against my gameplay judgement, i decided that with fifa 2005, i would buy myself a gamepad. I decided to buy the recommended gamepad and have enjoyed improved gameplay, much better aiming ;-) and finally a more rewarding gaming experience. I do not care about whether gamepads are better for fifa or pes and i dont want to go into that. I just hope there are some people who want turn this thread into a debate. -- Ash

Yeah those stupid topics have seen their day (I hope).
It was just a matter of time.

Well back to your issue... good for you. I'm glad you "switched teams"...
I hope you don't take any offense to what I'm about to say, but to me, it's so obvious that you can play better (and have more fun) with a gamepad.

A keyboard is made for TYPING (and was invented... what? 50-60 years ago?... before video games were even though of).

A GAMEpad is made especially for, guess what... GAMES.

It's kind of like saying, hey guys I decided to buy a Ferrari, and take it on the highway, and it's better than when I used to take my bicycle on the highway. Or, I make better milkshakes now that I bought a blender... because before I used to only use a fork.

BTW, which gamepad did you purchase?

i bought the recommended logitech dual action. good for ppl with a quite low budget altho its still bout £19.99. I did get a 10% student discount tho ;) lol. I havnt had any problems with it so far. follow the instructions properly/carefully and your ready to roll. I shied away from gamepads before, because i knew how crap i was at console games, altho i was quite good at the ol gran turismo two. come to think bout it, i was only crap at the first person shooter etc. games.

anyway, yeah, without advertising, buy the recommended gamepad as i believe that is probably what EA use to test/ design for.

i dont really use a gamepad and i use a keyboard and i dont mind

Whats Great about Fifa 2005 is that the lights in the stadiums in nighttime there are more of them for EG Delle Alpi more lights are shown in it than fifa 2005

and the Career Mode is great and the new mexican league is good and also the new so called A-League (Australian sOccer league) was announced today and there are 8 teams with a 1.5 million dollar salary cap and the winner goes to the world club Championship prolly be Perth Glory. Lol i dont think this would happen but i hope EA could put the A-League in therecos they got the K-League THere :rockman:

FIFA game-play has actually improved. Lots of details that were annoyingly missing made the whole thing seem inauthentic. And it's not slow as hell like 2005. I haven't tried the gampad though. If anyone can send me one (contact me through PM) I'll be glad to give my opinion on this issue (Y) (H)

What things are missing.

the passings and goalkeeper actions have improved alot and the grass looks nice but the nets need to shake more. and also at night you can see the boxes in the stadium which is great didnt have that in 04and when you take a goalkick it goes past halfway and in 2004 the furthest it went is halfway ;)
