This has to do with sponsorship. Madrid has the highest earning players because they get players who already have high earning sponsorships. Ronaldo and Beckham already had a lot of sponsorship money before coming to Madrid. Madrid are smart because they take in 50% of a player's sponsorship deals....So Madrid ARENT the ones paying the most for their players...theyre the ones RAKING IN the most money

the money players earn just depend on supply and demand
there are only a few people on the earth who can play football on this level so the supply is very low, but there are many big clubs who want good players, so the demand is very high--->players earn a lot of money

sure that what they do is not more worth as the work doctors ore firemen do, but i see no sense in setting a maximum

Im pretty sure Vieri and Del Piero have both taken pay cuts in past couple years as well. Where's Recoba, I thought his ridiculously high wages were the only reason hes remained at club.

these arent straight salaries, this is what the players actually earn

becks only makes like 5.5 million euros a year from real madrid, as do all the 'galacticos', everything else is from endorsements

funny how people say madrid waste money, but for every commercial, ad, endorsement their player does, they get half of the money, so they make a lot back in that end alone

Just would liek to point out something...

Chelsea have 2 players there. Man Utd and Arsenal both have 3... and apparently it was Chelsea who bought the league by being able to offer wages other clubs just couldn't afford! Interesting list though, not surprised at no.1 but very surprised at Vieri at 4!
