Major League Soccer welcomed its 13th team on Thursday when the league's first-ever Canadian club, Toronto FC, was unveiled at a press conference in the Ontario city. The team's name and logo were announced to the public for the first time and play will begin north of the border in the 2007 season at the National Soccer Stadium at Exhibition Place, which is currently under construction.

Good name and a f*cking awesome logo.

nice and simple with a traditional logo...looks good. Good luck to them and will all depend upon how willing the canadians are to support this team.

I was just about to start a thread about this. How exciting man. Finally a Toronto team that gets coverage, unlike those Lynx. Thats a sick logo too, I hope they do well :rockman: Lets get some good Canadian football talent

I seem to remember Carlo Corazzin was Canadian, what a lower league legend that man was.

What really pisses me off about the name is that stupid american commentators will say the FC every time they refer to the team :|. They don't understand that the FC is just an add on and doesn't need to be said every time. You don't hear Europeans call their teams Real Madrid CF or Chelsea FC or FC Internationale Milano, american commentators unfortunately don't understand that (among other things relating to soccer) and kill us by saying FC Dallas every single time they talk about that team...

"Toronto FC on the attack.....and Toronto FC goes up 1-0 on a beautiful strike.......Toronto FC wins the game...."

kill me now.
