Alex will probely buy somone boring like Gudjonsen or Fowler. there is no question about it though he needs a forward and he needs one bad. i would love it though if he signed Andriy Shevchenko my second favorite striker, just have him play in the premership. how sweet would that be him an van nistelrooy up front :rockman:

Robbie Fowler has been linked with a lot of clubs, with both Manchester clubs being put into the hat.

The problem with United is that if they buy a striker, he could be cup-tied for the Champions League. The player himself is unlikely to leave a club still in the Champions League, unless he's not playing any first team football, to play for a team just in the league (and maybe a couple of domestic cups). Shevchenko is one such player.

There are very few really 'quality' forwards in which Sir Alex can go for, who are:
1. available.
2. within a reasonable price range.
3. not cup-tied for Europe.

Sergei Rebrov is one such player, but I doubt very seriously if Sir Alex will go for him. Anyway, the Ukrainian has been linked with Fenerbahce.

Zdravko Zdravkov to Arsenal:)

Riiiiiiiiiiight :) Seriously doubt it, although he's probably better than Seaman has been recently. Anyway, doesn't he play for Cherno More right now? Playing for a mid-table Bulgarian team is not exactly a good way to jump-start your career. :nape: He has been playing well in Euro qualifiers though :)

Shevchenko is NOT one such player. He has played in milan's last four games, including the goal he scored against madrid.

And he is not unhappy/on the bench.

From AC Milan.com
This time Andriy Shevchenko has no doubts: 'We can win everything', he tells Gazzetta dello Sport. 'This will I won't be left empty-handed, we are very competitive. At first I had some difficulty, but then I understood Ancelotti's rotation is really equal for everybody. Impossible not to accept it'.

That's exactly what I said. I said that Shevchenko is a player who is unlikely to leave a club still in the champions league.

David Trezeguet has been involved in some transfer talk as he seems unsettled at Juventus. Barcelona and Arsenal have been mentioned.

Inter & Real deal

Dont Inter have a choice of one player as part of the Ronaldo deal?? I thought the deal was cash and one player (either McMannaman, Makelele or Conceiao) They were able to pick one when the transfer window opens. Anyone heard any news????????

Why not? The ones we have seem to do really well.

Plus, Bergkamp won't be around forever, so we need another force up front.

Trezeguet rumours

The latest i heard on Fox Sports World was that Juventus and Barcelona have been negotiating a switch between Trezeguet and Kliuvert.
If this were to go through, it would have to be the biggest transfer this winter.

Ferdinand Coly has already moved to Birmingham, while Lee Bowyer looks set to leave Leeds (at last) for possibly West Ham.

However, I don't think Arsenal will sign Trezeguet, at least not this winter, because Arsene Wenger has already said that he wouldn't tinker with his squad. Or maybe he was just talking bull?
