Is it me or has anyone else here noticed that the more you play pro evo 4 the more the game becomes harder. harder in the sense where before you were playing smooth football scoring bucket loads then all of a sudden you stuggle to beat china with brazil this all in the 6 star rating. i then stop playing the game for a week or so then i start playing and begin to play good again and score and create chances then after 2 days of continous play it becomes harder to score and create, i find this really annoying and puts me of the game i love so much. i was wondering anyone here has noticed or experienced the same thing...does any who has found a way to stop it from happening. saying that i might me paranoid and that i aint good enough to play in level 6 and should a lesser level.

Well...maybe if you're like me, you get burned out after playing this highly addictive game too much. I'm only an average-perhaps below average-player. This may sound pathetic but I was only playing at 3 star level a couple of weeks ago since I still consider myself a PES/WE newbie after playing that other game all these years. I wasn't able to improve my game at all and someone advised to me bump up to 5 or 6 star level since that's the only way I was going to be a better player.

I won my very first game at 6 star level 3-1 and I thought to myself "What's the big deal? This can't be that hard if I won my first game." But since that game I can't beat the cpu at 6 star level to save my life. :nape: It seems like the more I play, the worse I get. Maybe it's because I'm thinking too much about what's going on instead just doing it, I don't know. :S

i might of found a way to combat this....on the set menu where you chose the length of the the half etc ....look where the arrows are it should be its say home condition and away condition...put the arrow on up red always. since i have done this i have felt a difference .

maybe becasue now that you know a good way to attack you find it easy and try alternative ways like mroe passign longer shots etc.

Perhaps it's the option file, I seem to recall the game getting progressively harder the better I got. Even crappy teams seemed to have all sorts of speed and skill when I would play them. Wiping the option file took the difficulty back to where it started, and it was easier then.

I used to have this problem until I kinda figured it out. The more u play, the more you know your men better, who runs where, who tackles best...etc.. and you become so familiar with the buttons that everything is second nature to you.And familiarity breeds contempt.

The problem kicks in when you get an easy game and you thrash the guy 3-0 or 4-0 and you boss him around the park. Everytime he gets the ball, you are able to rip it off him in a flash, pass to your omf who dribbles through 2 guys and scores. Works everytime.

You then play a better team and this time feel sooooooo frustrated because its so difficult to score, everytime you get the ball and pass it up...you omf dribbles and gets pushed over...the opponent gets the ball runs up and your CBT gets it off him, you pass to your omf in a flash and same thing happens, he gets tripped, this happens ad infinitum and u dont score the whole game. As it's nearing the 80 min mark your hand is permanently stuck to the sprint button to get the ball back, pass forward, lose ball, CBT chases opponent FW sprinting like crazy, pass....lose ball...again.

Ok why does this happen? Firstly because your hand is permanently stuck to the sprint button. Just chill out a bit...when AI DMF gets the ball off your OMF and dribbles [you'll notice they NEVER sprint] slowly...and you will find yourself ordering your CBT to sprint like mad up there..to get the ball back. DONT do that. Let the AI DMF dribble down into your half...let him pass to his forward...in fact let his men at the back ALL start to drift forward slowly before you make your move and make sure it's your CBT that gets the ball off his FW. By that time many of his men are committed so when you start your counter....[don;'t pass straight to your omf] and then omf do the 1-touch to your forward [you will lose the ball again] !! let your OMF *driibble* through the DMF guarding it *before* passing to your forward, because once you dribble past the DMF guarding you, one of the CBT guarding your FW will leave him and charge towards your OMF, that's when you pass to your FW in a 1-2 or thru-pass or whatever to score. Keep doing this whenever you find yourself frustrated by the AI.

Some teams you can walk all over....some u can't. well most of them you can't on 5 stars.

P.S. if your OMF is a pussy that can't dribble through a blind man, then wait for his DMF to charge you before passing to a winger and do the cross thingy to score a header. I always use Zidane because he has *anti-dribble goalie* a 95 balance stat and 95 dribbling accuracy. He seldom gets pushed over unless there's a makelele or Davids in the opposing DMF.

i think thet most imported thing in pes4 on 6 stars is koncentracion, i have one game whit liverpool against some lower france first division team and lose away game 4:0
becouse my mind is beat it allredy, like in real games (one bad,bad game)
than comes anfield game and i start forious, in first half i have 2:0 and i play my best footy to date,3 rd goal comes in 54 minuts, and fans gone craizy, i atack and atack, but i never give 4th goal, novles pes 4 is the best game to date( 6 star sure the best way to play), it's not perfect, it's like real life soccer game

Well, I believe that, sometimes, we block our playing style and can't breack through. Maybe because we don't play with other people as much as we should, I don't know.

What I do know is that, for some strange reasom (maybe some psycology mather) we have "moments". Some times we can do anything we want and beat any team and some times we can't beat our gransmothers. :amika:

It's the opposite here. When I think about how to combine, how to slow down and speed up the game I'm a lot better off. I just start to play worse when I'm tired, when I'm getting in a routine ... etc.

A long post full of nonsense.

Truth is, PES makes use of so called "progressive AI". Games DO get harder the more you play, and it doesn't matter on which level. Play 50 close and consecutive games on level 2, and chances are by the end of it you'll have a hard time scoring. Don't play for a couple of weeks and the first few games will be smooth and easy. Or, alternatively: delete your option file every once in a while. Smooth and easy.

Why Konami opted to put this feature in, i don't know... all i can say is "realism" my a$$....

This makes total sense from what I've seen and not only does ML get harder but just playing Exhibition games gets harder, at least for me they do. And the option file overwrites every time you get done playing an exhibition.

It's no wonder that the more I play, it seems like the worse I get.

i've experienced the same thing. Didn't realize it could've been "by design". Thought it was just because i wasn't good enough to play on 6 stars. Maybe that was it, but maybe not. In fact it got to the point, where i couldn't get any scoring chances - never mind the goals, and that eventually ruined the whole season.

I was playing my ML 1st season with Newcastle (on 6 stars with Match Mode players) and it all started brilliantly: Shearer scored 18 goals in first 8 league matches, we were top of the standings with a good number of points separating us from 2nd place, and we also made it to the cup final, killing Southampton 5:0,2:1 in semis. Then things started to get really tight. I couldn't get any goals. Refs stopped awarding questionable penalties (which can be so helpful in tight games :) ). My star players - Shearer, Kluivert, Dyer started to miss from 5 meters out, hitting the posts, bar, teammates, anything but the goal. Many more offside decisions - some veeeery close... Anyways, it all ended as bad as it could. Shearer was able to score 2 more goals in remaining 6 league matches to reach the 20 goals mark, but both of them were penalties. I think i scored a total of like 6 or 7 goals in the 2nd half of the season. It was that bad. You've already guessed what happened next: we lost the cup final to Celtic 0:1, and also missed out not only on the league title, but on the promotion as well, finishing 3rd, behind Southamption and West Brom.

of course, i was really mad. for a couple of days. But then i thought that maybe this adds a bit of fun element to the game. In some masohistic way some would say, but still... Kinda makes you try hard in every game and remember that nothing is won until it's won.

If you find out a way to beat the game really early, then why would you always go back to it? Take me for example... I'm an addict. I've been playing til 4:30am recently, always getting closer to having all the trophies (Only 4 left to get, and I'm already halfway through the Dutch league). I find something different in every game. If the computer passing is more slick, then naturally I have to adapt. The sliding scale makes it more fun IMO.

i think this argument has merit. i recall once playing china as germany and beating them 32-0 on twenty minute halves on five star. then i played ten minute halves against saudi arabia as france and drew 0-0 and was so pissed off i turned the game off before i destroyed it. i think the game is too erattic. which is sometimes good but not. one game you can do no wrong the next you're a joke. nothing is more irksome than going up 1-0 and seeing the cpu turn into superman. their passes are faster than a bullet and you know they will score no matter what you do. this becomes more irritating when you are real madrid and your opponent a stiff like leece or something.
