As far as I know, I think the league champion has an automatic bid. The runner-up must go through a qualifying round. I'm not sure if the third place team even gets in the Champions League, but place 3 to 6th I believe get a chance in the UEFA Cup. If anyone else knows any different feel free to chime in.
Depending of the standing of the leagues. The Spanish and Italian leagues are the top 2 I believe and they have more team in the UEFA Competitions. The Turkish league was 8th place which they use to go with 6 teams to Europe thanks to one team 'GALATASARAY' the Turkish Giants. But for the past 2 years things didn't go well with GALATASARAY and the league quality fell down to 10th place and now if the League finished, Fener would qualify and Besiktas would play the 3rd round to qualify. Trabzonspor and Genclerbirligi would be in the UEFA cup.
This Weeks schedule
This weeks games kickoff on Saturday. The big club games are as follows:
Trabzonspor will host Istanbulspor. Trabzonspor are 1 point behind 2nd place Besiktas.
Fenerbahce take on A. Sebatspor at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
And on Sunday the derby match of Galatasaray v. Besiktas. The game will be hosted by Galatasaray at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium. Besiktas are in 2nd place, 6 points behind Fenerbahce.

Stupid, Stupid Ref, how can he give away that penalty. Besiktas didn't had any goal opportunity at all and played so bad and still managed to win this game. I am wondering how much they payed to that ref (Ali Aydin).
After the match Gala's president finaly have spoken against the refs. This is what he said exactly.
News reporter: (Asked a question to the president which I couldn't hear)
President: 'Would you please stop asking me questions. For the past 2 years I havn't said a word. The ref today did alot of mistakes against Galatasaray, and from now on I will not allow that ref to ref in any of our matches, he shouldn't even take the word of Galatasaray in his mouth. He is in a situation of resigning from his career.'

cool cool, yea Córdoba is always pretty good, but lately in the National team he had some grave mistakes, hopefully he'll get back into form soon for our next game against Ecuador, him and Calero (our other keeper) are the best.

As for Besiktas they pick up the 3 points against Galatasaray with a 2-1 victory. Both goals were scored on penalty kicks for Besiktas. Even though Galatasaray had most of the chances. Controversy surrounded the game concerning the penaltys given as well as the calls in the game made by referee Ali Aydin.
Fenerbahce was able to pick up their win by defeating A. Sebatspor 4-2. Fenerbahce dominated most of the game and showed a pretty good performance. A Fenerbahce goal was taken away from an offside position which showed to be onside on the replay. Fenerbahce keep their lead ahead of Besiktas by 6 points for first place.
