turn off replay/movies in PC game

I am now fed up with having to choose English every time I start up.
As well as watching the replays and closeups when there is throw ins etc.

I assume there is a way of turning every fancy bit off, but I haven't found out yet.
Does anybody know how to turnd the extras off?

Create a file called USER.INI in the program files directory for FIFA 06 ('CProgram Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 06\' by default - you will find CONFIG.DAT there) and add the following lines to it:

AVAILABLE_LANGS = eng
[OPTIONS]
DEFAULT_TEXT_LANGUAGE = eng

and you should no longer be prompted for language on start up but see English used throughout (although I've no idea whether or not this affects foreign language commentary). Bear in mind, however, that many of the OPTIONS section settings can be overridden by your profile, so it might be worth checking within the game that that is set to English, where appropriate.

As for the other elements of your question, I'm afraid that I have no idea of whether or not it is possible to turn off the in-game 'cut scenes' but you can generally short-cut them quite quickly by pressing the correct button on the controller (or presumably, key on the keyboard)

well this is an excerpt of my locale.ini which is stored in main folder of fifa:

DEFAULT_TEXT_LANGUAGE = ger
INSTALL_LANGUAGE = ger

WINDOWED = 1
AVAILABLE_LANGS = ger
RESOLUTION = 1024x768x16

change ger to eng, and you have english text and fifa doesnt ask you for language anymore
video=0 turns off the intro video but also all cut scenes ingame
windows = 1 runs fifa in windowed mode
resolution, change to any resolution you like, 16 bit works, even those resolutions which arent in fifa settings like 320x240
you can also use WIDESCREEN = 1, but i dont have a widescreen monitor, so i wont need this

there are lot of options to add in locale.ini

are u sure about this? DISABLE_NIS is listed under the online settings in sku.ini inside config.dat
