tv out question

im thinking about updating my graphics card as the one i have dosnt have a tv out function.
i was wondering if i buy a card that does have tv out would i be able to play pes/we on my tv with screen resolution the same as my monitor.
i have a ps2 and enjoy playing pes&we on it but it just dosnt compare to the graphics on the pc.it may be just a dream but my ultimate goal would be to play pes/we pc on my widescreen tv with surround sound etc.
another question if i bought a plasma or lcd tv would that support a higher resolution too?
has anyone done this?

I tried it, but found that movement became quite jerky, where on my monitor everything was running smooth. I didn't experiment with refresh rates, though, so you might get it to run well with some tinkering.

When I play at my cousin's, we always play on his widescreen TV using the PC's TV output. It runs as smooth as on the monitor, as long as you output at 60Hz. Hope that helps

just make sure u buy a great graphic card and match it up with some awesome quality screen...

i also HIGHLY recommend using TV Tool, theres so much more u can do with the TV out with that program, like remove the black borders and make it use the full width and height of the TV..

PS. only for Nvidia cards.
