U21 Euro2007 qualifying playoff draw (R)

You're right about relegating Alverca, my bad. But whatever, as I said.

But I take from your reasoning that Scolari is then way better than Humberto Coelho and the best NT coach ever, because he lead the team to a Euro final and a WC semi-final. Also, he has won titles in almost every club he was at and has a vast and rich trohpies case. Now, Humberto Coelho, besides the Euro 2000, hasn't done ANYTHING in his career. You can also say he had a team build and a generation at his peak in that Euro cup.

He hasn't coached a 1st Division team, he failed in the few experiences he had in lower level Portuguese clubs and failed miserably at other good NTs after 2000... By your logic, hasn't he he's shown he's incompetent several several times?

Coelho is incompetent no doubt (i mean he tied with South Korea against the Maldives coached by frekin Prof. Neca) but i think, in my personal opinion that he is a better coach than Couceiro. I put Couceiro in Luis Campas level. Getting into the Semi´s of an Euro beats getting qualified for the Euro under 21 championship i guess.

OK, that can be... But I'm not even sure about that. Anyway, as I said, you have your opinion, I have mine. :)

And it's not as if I think Couceiro is a great coach, he obviously isn't and is a questionable choice. But he is there and he deserves the benefit of the doubt. My main problem with all this is it's frustrating to me to see many people (just visiting a few blogs in enough) criticize him relentlessly claiming facts that can be applied in many other cases where they don't criticize and because he replaced Agostinho and they don't like that decision (I'm not saying it's your case)...

Off-topic note - 777 posts, nice number! ;)

yeah the ref was unexpected too, Joao Pereira's sending off was a joke, the guy got carded after 47 seconds  and no way that was a penalty in the end.
