UCL Group A: Bremen vs Barcelona [R]

Hendrik

Team Captain
1-0 Puyol (og)

What's with Barca's lineup? It looks like they want to help Bremen eliminating Chelsea.

1-1 Messi

what a ball by Deco :rockman:

Bremen had their chances to finish up the match but Barça could have taken the lead in the first half...

excellent match (Y)

Sucks for Werder. Deserved the win more, but that's the way **** unfolds. Ronaldinho was just **** tonight lol. Messi did better in just 10 or so minutes.

Messi should start always, i understand Rikjard(sp?) rotation system, but Messi is a complete diferent player, he can change a whole match in any moment.
Barcelona should take advantage of Messi´s youth and play him all the games posible loke they do with Ronaldinho, and maybe bench him in less important mathces in La Liga against "weak" teams

Hats off to Bremen, they almost did enough to upset the European champions, and seeing Barca score 2 minutes before the end would've really sucked. But Messi's ball placement was just impeccable, definately one of the goals of the week :)

I would say Frank is right. Start Messi all games and the youngster will be burnt out in 3-4 years. He still needs to be molded and preserved. Look at Owen and all his injuries.

But now with Eto'o injury he should play a more important role in the team IMO, an play more mathces as a starter.

BTW Messi > Owen, any time

What the...

How do you compare Messi to Owen? For one Owen is a striker and Messi is more of a very attacking midfielder ( AMC or maybe even SS). THan they are different types of players, Owen known for his scoring, speed, and all. Messi is fast, dribbling, passing but cant finish like Owen. I dont see how they can be compared?

Why the hell was Owen brought up in comparison to Messi? Owen was just an example of early burnout and subsequent injuries.

Who knows, maybe with time Messi will become a better shooter. That is all he is lacking in his game, the rest he is awesome at.

Because Owen is an example of a youngster burning out with age, the Michael Owen of 6-8 years ago is better than the one now

I know, I basically said that. I meant that they shouldn't be compared, i.e. who's better.

Well that and at times he thinks he is the only one playing. Needes to focus on getting the team involved and not just going all out by himself. Along with some other minor things but he is young.

I was just saying that there is no need to compare him to Owen as henry#14 has been saying.
