Help?

It's obvious that it will be difficult to beat them...But it will be hard for them too. Playing in a full Estadio da Luz is never easy, and I think that most of Manchester United fans would agree with me on that.

But, at least one person doesn't think that way: Alex Ferguson. He has just said in the press conference that "they deserve to go on in the competition because they're the best team, better than Benfica; and the teams that played in Old Trafford together only managed to shot 3 and an half times to Man Utd's goal." "It's been a very even group and it's incredible how a team like Lille can still go thru".
So, according to mr. Ferguson, they are the best team even without playing their matches...how can he say that they're best than Benfica?! At least show it on the field. And those comments about the shots on Van der Sar's goal are just... I remember (just from Benfica's game) at least 3 clear goal chances besides the goal. Ricardo Rocha, Miccolli, Simão...
And...it's incredible how a team like Man Utd can still go thru! What have they done the other teams haven't?? They won 1 game!
I simply don't respect Alex Ferguson anymore. It's always the same with him. Two years ago against FC Porto was just the same, making fun of our league...

Fans don't play football. You may have a stadium full of people, 65000 noising for the team, but if you have a team that hasn't 4 of it's key players, has a GK injured playing, is in bad form...well...

As I said...only a Super-Benfica.

What about him? Not every portuguese are a Mourinho's fan. But he could say something like that, that they are the best. They lead the Premiership with 10 points, they already passed the CL group stage... Alex Ferguson is third and he's saying that they're the best. And he even said that it's incredible how Lille can still go through, even if Manchester couldn't score a single goal against them. How much would you laugh if you were a Lille's fan? I'm not Mourinho's fan (but I can admit that he's the best doing his job), but I think this is different.

Anyway, I like Manchester United..it would be better if the two teams could get through.. I'm expecting a great game tomorrow. I still think that it's going to be VERY difficult...but I can see Villareal scoring against Lille, with 0-0 at our game and Manchester United getting nervous. Or if Benfica scores first... You just need a corner..;)

Yes,it can. But do you think that's the case? Can you really say which team is that in our group? Because the favourite team in our group is Manchester United.

I still have a bit of faith that we can pull one out of our asses and win this game with lots of luck, but I have a feeling we'll get nothing more than a draw at best :( Oh well, on the bright side we'll have more time to concentrate on the league (where we have enough problems atm) if/when we get knocked out of the CL/UEFA

For your information, a team can suck in group stage and get lucky in knockout stages and lift the trophy at last :lui:
like scoring twice in injury time in a final :(

Many Benfica fans don't recognize the abilities and the true importance of Karagounis... but from what i've seen in his last games for Benfica, i think he's a great player... what i saw is a player that hardly loses possession of the ball, can pass and control the ball very well, is hard-working, strong and he recovers many balls in the midfield for the the team...

even my father, that is a very critical and rigorous person, agreed... actually, between us, he was the first to notice the Greek player...

Karagounis.... i'm starting to worship this guy... :rockman:

Hope Benfica wins but can´t see it happening. ManU needs points too and is bringing all the guns to the table, whereas Benfica without Simão is just Enfica - not the same team.
If Koeman proves to be at least twice smarter than Co his team might get the draw that puts them in the UEFA Cup, which judging by the results of all other portuguese teams this season wouldn´t be that bad at all.
